So this is my current setup.
My indoor shelves are mostly empty, except for the plants who are supposed to do well without "full sun." I've read that even South-facing windows don't count as full sun because the glass blocks some of the necessary UV, so I'm not 100% sure about this. But either way, most of the plants that I left there have done well in that window, so I'm going to leave them there.
Since I decided to go hard on rebuilding my collection, I also did a lot of research about keeping the more sun-loving plants outdoors. I hope it goes well. Everything I've read says the climate here would be great except for when it's too cold. So I decided to give my plants wheels.
It's too cold to leave them out at night for now, so I cart them out in the morning and back in at night. I know that might sound crazy, but I don't mind. It won't be the case for much longer, and it will give me something to do in the winter. 😂
The empty spaces in my shelves serve a purpose. That's where my totes and large pots will stay when I bring the plants in. I park the cart next to the shelves when they come in at night.
The cage around the plants on the cart is to prevent Bear from playing in them. He's definitely a helper. Anything we do he needs to be part of, and the plants being prickly doesn't stop him.

The top of the cart is mostly Echeveria-types. |

The bottom are cacti and agave, primarily. There is also an aloe. |

Then there's this little tote of plants that doesn't fit on the cart. |
