I don't think I've ever been so excited to wash my bed sheets and covers. 😂
Today Laurel came over and swapped me Chupa and Scar (Scar aka Basil) for Precious. As much as I love that dear old cat I have found that I am not able to sleep comfortably with her in my bed now that her hair is growing in. Her hair or her dander or something just makes my nose and throat itch like WHOA. It is SO hard to sleep like that.
I have never been a huge fan of sleeping with animals - I share my whole house with them so I really, honestly, just want one room to myself. I think that is reasonable. But with Precious I didn't want to put her in with my other cats because the dogs go in that room and she doesn't have claws. I just didn't feel safe with that. Maybe the other cats would pick on her or the dogs would realize that she didn't have a defense. I don't know. They don't usually bother the cats, but I would rather be safe than sorry.
So... the last place I had to stash her was my room. And at first she couldn't get on my bed. And I had her shaved, too. And all of that was ok. But eventually her hair started growing in and she figured out how to get on my bed and good luck stopping a cat from doing something you don't want them to. 😖
As most of you probably remember a few months ago I gave Chupa and Basil to Laurel and I think that was ok at first. But those two are SO high-energy and just going going going. That is not the vibe at all at Laurel's place. They ended up not being a good fit there and sometimes that just happens. Laurel is totally an animal person, too, but that doesn't mean that any of us can work magic. Also, Chupa was having potty issues. So I told her that I'd take Chupa and Basil back. That is always the deal with me. When I adopt an animal out I need to know where they are and that it is good. I feel like that is my responsibility. They are my kids after all. 🙂
Since Laurel's house is totally laid back and she has older kitties too I asked if she'd take Precious for me. She's more of a cat / lizard person, anyway. I think she was sort of allergic to Chupa, as well. I know I have heard her talk about itching and needing to wash the dog on more than one occasion. 😔
So as of a few hours ago things were going ok. Precious has been out exploring. Laurel's other kitties have hissed at her some, but that is to be expected. They will work it out. Also, Laurel has more lizard tanks than I do so Precious will LOVE THAT seeing as how her favorite place to hang out was right above Koopa's heating lamp. Also, I can go and visit her and Laurel will send me photos so that is just great. I think we will all be much happier with this arrangement. 🙂
On my end Basil has been playing with ADDC (who I still haven't officially introduced to the internet), and Chupa has just been hanging out. She's on her period so I feel bad for her. I will get her spayed as soon as she's done with that business. She's also doing well with being in the house - no accidents so far. 🙂 Truth be told I've kind of missed those two clowns. I will be looking for Chusil a home together (a dog AND a cat - I know - tough sell), but if I can't find one I'm not gonna sweat it right now. What's important is that I've got my bed back, bitches! 😃
Here's to compatibility! It is SUCH a big deal! ❤
