Y'ALL. I just opened up my dryer. It took like, a whopping 5 minutes and I found SO MUCH SHIT in the thing behind my lint trap. Dust, screws, fur / hair, a PENCIL. 😳 It was seriously compacted in there. I imagine that due to the amount of animal laundry I do mine probably clogs faster than most, but now I TOTALLY get why it wasn't drying.
If your dryer gets hot but is now taking several cycles to dry please watch this video and try a simple DIY fix before spending a chunk on a repair guy or new dryer. Seriously, 30 minutes of your time (including the cleaning and putting back together) and you might be good to go. I'll let you know if mine doesn't work still, but I bet it does.
Also, that had to be a fire hazard. 😳
I will commence with the cleaning and putting back together now. I was just excited that I found a clump of nasty to blame my problem on. 😃
