I guess the down-side to being a tortoise is that you don't make much noise.

I guess the down-side to being a tortoise is that you don't make much noise.

I'm sitting here studying with the door open because it's nice out and Emma just jumped up and ran to the gate - like something was going on.  So I put down my books and followed her because I listen to my animals.  She stopped at the gate and was huffing and prancing, like "There is something going on right here!"  I looked down and Tort Baby was just laying there - pathetically up-side down and not even trying to get right.  I don't know how long he'd been that way - whether he had been upside down for a while and was tired from trying to flip over, or if he was just waiting for someone to rescue him.  LOL

I will admit that whenever me and Shadow see him upside down we help the little dude out (even though the mean old Shaun-Daddy thinks it's good practice for him to flip himself [I know it is, but YOU try not to help him!]).  So it's quite possible he was just waiting for assistance.  Or, he could have been that way for a while.  I have no idea.  Either way he's fine.  I put him back in his house to warm up and rest and he's hanging out and basking now.

I guess that's the down-side to having an animal that doesn't really vocalize when they are in distress.

Thank goodness for doggies who keep an eye on everything.  ❤
