I am having feelings today.

I am having feelings today.  I think my old man isn't going to be with me much longer.  🙁

I've been watching Scooter carefully because I am not gonna have him suffering.  Despite the doctor upping his dose of Prednisone his muscles seem to still be deteriorating.  He has a hard time standing up.  He's tripping and stumbling more and he's also unable to hold himself upright on the kitchen floor anymore (no traction).  The other day he was standing in there and just flopped sideways.  Thank goodness he's so short and didn't have too far to fall.

Several times a day he'll just be laying on his side in the floor, barking.  He's always been weird, but he's never done that.

The doctor said that his condition was probably autoimmune so I was hoping for a turnaround.  Last summer was terrible for me and due to my autoimmune arthritis I was barely able to walk without help.  But now I'm ok.  I was really hoping that the same would happen for him, but there is no way to know if it will or not.

He still enjoys chewing bones and he's still eating and using the bathroom.  I've been spoiling him by giving him whatever food he wants.  He loves pound cake so we've been eating a lot of that together.  But I just really feel that our time together is coming to an end.  I am just wondering if I will know when the time is "right."  I have learned from experience that a little too early would be better than a little too late.  I don't want him to feel bad or unhappy.  But I can tell that he feels like crap so maybe it's time now.  Maybe I've already waited too long.  How do I know?

Kicking off vacation in these goofy things!

Kicking off vacation in these goofy things!  I was trying to be less "the same" on every nail.  I think I did a good job.  Well, except that I think my thumb might accidentally resemble a penis.  😕

So, I'd seen this video online that someone came out with stamping plates for stones - basically a template of a design that you arrange your stones into and then you pick them up and apply them with a stamper.  Sure beats putting them on one at a time!  Well, it's cool and all, but it was kind of expensive for what it was.  So, I tried just lining up some stones on top of the design I used to stamp polish on my nail and then picked them up and put them on with my stamper.

It worked pretty well.  They held formation on a sticky stamper head and since I have a clear stamper, placement was extra-easy.  I'd been wanting to try that out and I'll probably do some more of this in the near future.  I'll just need to keep a better eye on what my shapes come out like.  For the record:  On my thumb I was going for a smaller triangle inside a bigger triangle.  I maybe needed a few more stones on there.  LOL

Heard from Storm's dad earlier.

Heard from Storm's dad earlier. He and mom made it in around 10 last night. He's been getting along great with his new siblings (a small dog and a cat), and he even napped on the bed today! Talk about a life of luxury! 🙂 I am so happy that he's finally got the life he deserves. ❤❤❤

Storm made it home around 10 last night.

Storm made it home around 10 last night.  They left Anniston around 7.  What a long day!  But I hear that he's getting along great with his new family, so that is awesome news!  🙂

If any of you are interested,

If any of you are interested, Celtic Sun is the only neon yellow nail polish I've used that didn't stain my nails. I always use a base coat, but most of them stain right through regardless. So, I'm super happy with that polish. 🙂

In other news I missed a call from Storm's dad. It was late already and I didn't see it until 40 minutes later, so I sent a text in case they'd settled in and gone to bed. I know that Storm and mom hit some bad weather and got off the road for a while. I'm not sure if they've made it home yet or not, but I know it was a long day for all involved, so I'm sure that they are tucked in safe somewhere. Hoping that I hear some great news early in the morning. Paws crossed!

Just dropped this precious boy off for his ride home.

Just dropped this precious boy off for his ride home.  He was seen off by a former neighbor, who he DEFINITELY remembered.  He enjoyed all the loving from the ladies last night, but I think he might have been a little overwhelmed because he didn't quite open up like this yesterday.  He went right to this guy and pushed into him - he honestly looked like he wanted to get in his lap!  After a minute he threw a paw up, and before you knew it, it was a full-on Storm hug!  It was a beautiful moment.  I wish I'd had my camera handy, but I think his new mom got a few photos.

Anyway.  I had a few tears on the drive home, but I gotta say - it's a lot easier to send them on another fun car trip (thankfully, he likes to ride), than to send them on a scary transport.  (I loved the transports I worked with, but I know those are stressful for the animals.)  I will always do what I have to do to get them where they need to go, but this was MUCH easier on both me and Storm.  I can't thank you enough, Jim, for allowing him to come home this way.

So.  Precious cargo en route!  I hope they have a safe trip home.  I'll be anxiously awaiting the message that they have arrived safe and sound.  Happy life, Storm!  ❤

Did my nails last night.

Did my nails last night.  Again, not super creative, but with working so much and school I'm just throwing down something fast that doesn't require a super lot of thought and planning.  I'm not usually a neon kind of girl, but I bought this yellow for a specific reason (to do a thing that I don't yet have time to do) and thought "What the hell?"  So I put it on.

I tested a few stamping polishes over it and I liked the pink the best.  But it just wasn't sparkly enough, so I stamped over it with a holographic to give it some sparkle.  Holos aren't meant for stamping, but some will do it pretty well.  This one would have been kind of sheer without the pink stamping under it.  You can see where I didn't line the stamps up perfectly (I wasn't trying to - I wanted it to have a little depth), but I was more off than I wanted to be on my middle finger.  You can probably see it if you look close.  It wasn't bad enough that I felt the need to re-do the whole nail.  LOL  Who has time for that these days?!

Anyone interested in the polishes used?  Almost no one asks me, but most people write it out, anyway.  Here you go, just in case.  Not a bad habit to get into.  😛
