How he looks...

How he looks before he runs out of patience and tries to climb up in the chair with me:

I love that dirt roads through the mesa...

I love that dirt roads through the mesa are actually marked with street names and show up on Google maps.

Also, I thought the Sandias looked pretty today. 😊

Harley. 🤦🏻

Harley. 🤦🏻

He usually goes so deep under the couch cover that he's just a lump, but today he's peeking out a bit.

He's been SUPER into the last piece of cat furniture I got. He likes the enclosed bottom space. But I guess nothing will ever beat a good blanket fort. 😂

My ridiculous boyfriend. Just look at him.

My ridiculous boyfriend. Just look at him.

I'm sitting at the kitchen table trying to get some things done. I have my feet propped up in the chair opposite me, and I have a blanket over my legs because they are chilly.

Scar cried and cried and stood up and patted me and tried his best to get all of my love and attention. I just couldn't give it to him. So he got in the chair opposite of me and crawled into my lap. He's in a sort of accidental-hammock situation with my leg blanket at the moment, but he's quiet now.

Whatever works. 😂😂😂

I really don't know how we're gonna get up, though. We'll cross that bridge when we get there. 😂😂😂

I have a lot of things that I want to finish before September...

I have a lot of things that I want to finish before September so I've been in my head a lot lately - too paralyzed to do the things I need / want to.  Too paralyzed to even have fun.  But today was good!  🙂

Shaun woke me up with a text asking if I wanted to go to my favorite tea place and OF COURSE I did!  Got a nice burrito while I was there, too.  Since we were only hitting the drive-through we let Cub ride with us.  Usually they give him a treat, but today they didn't.  Don't worry - we made up for it.  🙂

After we got home and ate and chilled a bit I painted Shaun's nails.  His toenails are a pretty purple / blue / green shifting polish with reflective glitter in so it will LIGHT UP in the right light.  I might get a picture for y'all.  His fingernails are just plain black gel.  He can do something nicer over that if he wants.  He's got a whole stash of polish in his favorite colors.

About the time I finished up doing nails Cubba was in my face talking.  😂😂😂  He does this breathy huff thing when he's restless / playful and it's pretty cute.  We could tell he wanted something and it was a bit late, but not dark so we took him to the park close by.  It was probably in the high 60s°F out there and a bit humid because we could see the rain coming, but it felt nice.  We also had the park to ourselves!

Cubba walked with Shaun.  I walked with them, too, but I also swung on the swings and went down the slide.  I don't care - I will swing every chance I get.  It's fun and it makes me laugh and I like it.  I can't wait until we get a big sturdy swing set put in our yard.

Anyway, as we were leaving Shadow arrived.  Cubba was NOT a fan of leaving a member of the family behind, but he was good and got in the car.  After we got home I showered and now here I am listening to a thunderstorm and trying to catch up on some internetting.

It's been a pretty chill day and that's nice.  I'm hoping I finish what I need to do and get some sleep.  Kira's going to work tomorrow at the cat rescue and I'm allowed to tag along and volunteer so that will probably be fun.

I hope you all are doing well!  I'm really going to try to get out of my head and make the most of this week.  Have a good night!  ❤

I hear the weather is scorching in Alabama.

I hear the weather is scorching in Alabama. With the clouds and the rain we're at a nice 75°F right now. Y'all stay safe and hydrated. Heat sickness feels bad. 🙁

Monsoon season is here!

Monsoon season is here!

I love living somewhere that I can enjoy the rain instead of fearing it. In Anniston my house and yard flooded constantly. The rain nourished my pecan trees so well that the limbs were heavy and fell on my house. It also made my grass grow stupid fast and thick which added a hard chore for me to tackle. The humidity made it nearly impossible to dry anything completely. It was so stressful.

I love desert life. Thunderstorms and rain pass through and now it's just relaxing, cooling background noise. We have arroyos to keep flooding from happening when it comes down too fast. Humidity doesn't stick around and if the rain comes earlier in the day we get rainbows. Not much to complain about, really.

We're getting close to being in our new home for a year now and I still love it so much. I'm happier and less stressed than I've been in ages. Sorry, not sorry for the mushy post. I'm just looking out of my window and feeling grateful. ❤️
