This little guy...

This little guy is nowhere near as easy to feed as Teyla (though he's the one that REALLY needs to eat). Much to my surprise, we didn't have to stand off for several minutes before he got started, which has been the norm. I think he's finally learning the routine.

I guess we get a glimpse of his manners. Who needs to wipe their face when you can just sling it all over Blu and everything else in the kitchen? I suppose feeding him is how I ended up with food in my hair, as well as all that on my appliances. LOL

This was taken this morning. But I did go to PetSmart today to get them more bugs, and I got some tiny crickets just for him. He actually chased and ate a few, which is the most he's eaten on his own since he's been here. Good boy! 🙂

It is so easy to feed this girl.

It is so easy to feed this girl. She loves her food! 🙂 She's a neat eater and uses her manners. She wipes her own face at about the 3:10 and 4:05 mark. That just melts me. 😃 Also, the way she backed up from me in the beginning is really funny. I don't know what she thought I was going to do to her. LOL But this girl has ATTITUDE. 😃

Ok y'all - you finally get to meet Casper.

ADOPTED 08/25/13 - Ok y'all - you finally get to meet Casper. He's been with me for about two weeks now. This was taken the day he came to my house. Yeah, I tied him to the porch until I figured out what to do with him. He was kind of a spur-of-the-moment deal.

He's about 8 months old. Totally sweet. He's got a thing about hugging your waste (but not humping) and laying on your feet. He also nibbles when he's excited.

So here, he's mangy and full of worms. Today was his 2nd mange treatment, and he looks a lot less red and his head is becoming less scabby. He belly is no longer swollen, and he's starting to look more healthy and act more playful. It's so wonderful to watch a foster get comfortable and finally get to know them! It's a transformation, for real. ❤

Meet Casper!  This was the day he arrived, but I will post a better photo of him in the coming weeks.  He already looks a lot better.  🙂

Rest in Peace, little dude.

Rest in Peace, little dude.  Unfortunately, he did not make it.  🙁  And yeah, I'm sure this time.  🙁

Despite following all of the directions I could find, I was having a really difficult time getting him to eat.  I thought it was me, but after Googling some photos, I am not so sure.  He kept his tongue pressed against the roof of his mouth, and never closed it.  I even tried to gently press his mouth closed, but there was resistance.  That does not appear to be normal.

Also, (on the other side of him) he had a cut in his armpit.  I cleaned it last night when I found it (didn't see it right away since it was in a fold), but it didn't look too bad.  Now, he's got a large bruised area and his left arm is swollen.  This did not appear until after he died, though.  I have no idea why it wasn't apparent at first, but I'm starting to think that he could have had internal injuries that I wasn't aware of.

I was really hoping he would make it through the night... I'd talked to a couple of rehabbers, and Laurel was going to take him to one in Madison for me if he'd lived.

This just sucks.  But I guess I can't help them all.  🙁

My mornings are starting to get a little crazy. @_@

My mornings are starting to get a little crazy.  @_@

I have to get a good timer this weekend.  It would handle this for me.  First things first:  turn on the lights and wake up the scale babies so they can get warm.

My doggie door is currently broken, so now I have to get up and let my dogs out.  (I know, poor me.  LOL)  Then give them food and water.  Then bring them in and give them treats.

Next I visit Casper, and give him food and water.  Today is his 2nd mange bath, but that's later.  🙂

Litter boxes are next, and cat treats.  Shadow handles cat food and water.  Also, birds and fish.  🙂  I gave him the easy ones, but that's because he didn't ask for any of these animals - he only wanted to keep Midna (cat).  I could let him scoop the litter boxes, but I like doing it.  (Yeah, I said that.)  He helps me anyway, and I appreciate it.  I have a good kid.  ❤

Then, syringe baby squirrel.

Then, syringe Teal'c and throw bugs in for Teyla.  And make a lizard salad.  😉

So yeah.  My list has grown considerably in the last few weeks.  But, I'm keeping up.  Just a little unsure of myself on the baby squirrel.  It's freaking me out a bit, but so far, so good.

Just got baby squirrel fed and tucked in.

Just got baby squirrel fed and tucked in.  I'm FINALLY winding down for the night.  What a crazy day!

I had fun at the comedy club with all my peoples.  Nearly made myself crazy trying to get there.  Sorry everyone, for my lateness.  That is precisely why I never make plans - seems like something always crops up and puts me off course.  😳

Goodnight, finally.  Can't wait to get in my bed.  😃
