Janet's nails from this weekend.  She did the painting and clean-up and I did the stamping.  I really like her choice of color and stamps.  Mine were MUCH less creative.  I should have let her design my whole manicure.  She did pick out my stamp for me.  I was just having a brain-fart moment.  LOL

When I should be doing things I don't want to do...

When I should be doing things I don't want to do, letting my squirrel buddy out to exercise is always a good reason to neglect my chores.  Better to neglect my chores than him, right?

I've had a lovely evening with my Dumpy.  He played briefly, but I think he tired out pretty fast.  It IS kind of late.  Tired Dumpy = Lovey Dumpy.  Usually petting means it's wrestle time, but tonight I got in all kinds of lovvins.  Back scratches, neck scratches, lots of head and neck kisses.  He even laid down and rested on my leg for a moment.  Usually he's busy darting around at the speed of light, trying to peel my fingernails off and looking for things to chew and wrestle.  But tonight, he mellowed out after some wrestling and running, and it was just nice.  Reminded me of when he was a baby and always wanted to be right with me.  Before he could move so fast and I was all he knew.  Sometimes I miss that.  Hell, sometimes I miss that with Shadow, too.  Too bad they all grow up so fast.  😕

I just love my kids.  ALL of them.  ❤

I just don't want to do anything that I'm supposed to be doing right now.  I'm so bad.  😛

Long day, but good.

Long day, but good.  Got up at 3 am to go with mom and Shadow to get my brother Cade and his cat Hannibal from the airport in Atlanta.  Thanks, Cassey, for taking us through Atlanta in your sweet new ride.  😃

Went back to Munford for a few, then headed home to take care of my ani-pals, then off to work I went.  I was drowsy, but got a lot done.  The busier I stayed the less I noticed that I was really sleepy.  LOL

After work, I went back to Munford for dinner and to visit and get my kid AND TO NAP.  LOL  I'm always crazy sleepy after I eat, so there was no way I was making it home without some sleep.  Shaun is awesome because he let my dogs out for me after work so I didn't have to go back to Anniston before Munford.  Yay for saving time and gas!

All in all, it's been a really good day.  I am beyond psyched to have my brother home.  Of course mom is, too, and Shadow REALLY is.  Cade always helped me with Shadow when he was a baby, so as stereotypically redneck and messed up as it might sound he was kind of my kid's first dad figure.  He means a lot to us and I just don't know if he really knows that.  I mean, I told him I was so excited to see him that I wanted to bash my head into his head, so I don't know how much more obvious I can get, but hey, I tried.  😃

Got my brother back today. FOR GOOD.
I am so EXCITE! 😃

For anyone who doesn't know, my brother has been in the Army for 8 years. He's survived two tours in Iraq and we are just glad to have him home. He's got some wear and tear from it all, but he's alive and well and I'm just so thankful for that. ❤

The beach nails didn't last long.

The beach nails didn't last long. They just weren't my style, so I wasn't enjoying looking at them. I did these real quick last night. I didn't have a whole lot of time, and my original idea was something entirely different, but things went in their own direction, and here we are. LOL

I put down my base color (which is one I really adore! - some off brand polish I found in Douglasville a while back) and then used Saran Wrap to put the sparkly color down. Then I stamped this festive, swirly design on top. Pretty easy. I could really see that design going great over some brighter colors.

Honestly, I feel like something is missing here. I really don't enjoy it when all of my nails look the same. I have no idea why. LOL Even though these have depth and are pretty and interesting, it's just not enough. I might have to go and paint one the base color or black or something, just so I don't take them off. 😛
