Took my old man back to the vet.

Took my old man back to the vet.  He's been licking the floor and stumbling, and his appetite is disappearing.  🙁

On the bright side he gained 4 lbs so that's great.  I can still feel his spine like there is only skin over it, though.  🙁  I asked the vet if he could have myositis all over and not just on his head, and that could be a possibility - especially with him stumbling now.  Another plus was that his blood work came back great, so that was a huge relief for me.  So, we are sticking with the myositis diagnosis for now.

We are upping his Prednisone to twice daily and he's also got an antacid to see if that helps with the licking.  I really hope he feels better soon.  I hate looking at my puppy and being able to tell that he feels like a pile of turds.  I've been there.  When my arthritis flares up and I can't walk too well I hate life.  I do not want him to feel that way.  🙁

Anyway.  The blood work being ok was a huge chunk of stress off of me.  I'd been worried that they were going to turn up something really bad.  Maybe we can get him eating and walking a little better for now.  I feel like I'd be lost without my Scooter.  I'm not ready to think about what happens if we can't make him better yet.  🙁

There are not enough stickers on all of Facebook to properly express my excitement right now. MY ORDER NOT ONLY ARRIVED TODAY, BUT IT HAD FREE PLATES IN IT, TOO!!! AND CHECK OUT THAT FUCKING PRECIOUS PACKAGING, OMG. 😳

I'm so excited.  (This is nail art stuff, so if you don't care avert your eyeballs now.)  Tomorrow, my new stampers will be delivered.  I can't wait!  Woohoo!  NAIL MAIL!!!  😃😃😃

I've been wanting the super squishy clear stampers for a while now.  The two that I bought from Ali Express a while back are clear and that's cool, but they aren't very squishy and don't always pick up the images well.  My nails have a pretty strong C curve, so I have to roll more rigid stampers across my nails.  That just leaves more room for error, in my opinion.  You are more at risk of distorting your image or breaking the polish altogether if you do it the wrong way.  I know it's JUST nail polish and it's not super important to most people, but once I've invested so much time into a paint job (up to several enjoyable hours, at times), messing up a layer of stamping can really ruin my day.

Anyway.  I've been wanting a clear squishy stamper.  I'd seen these in one of the nail art groups I'm in, but the shipping from Canada was wayyy too expensive and those stampers aren't cheap, either.  But they emailed out a survey recently that gave you a coupon code upon completion and I went for it.  Since shipping was still the same no matter what, I ordered two.  Figured I might as well make the postage worth it.  LOL

So, they should be here tomorrow and I'm pumped!  They are not only clear and squishy, but they come with lids to keep the fuzz off.  One lid is even full of crystals, which does nothing except look pretty, but that's ok with me.  Hopefully, they will work as well as the reviews say they do.  Ahh!  So excited!  😃

I was about to brush my teeth this morning...

I was about to brush my teeth this morning so I could go and tutor when my clumsy fat sleepy arthritis hands dropped my toothbrush in the sink. Without any other thought aside from "Eww!" I threw the now irreparably-soiled toothbrush in the trash. IN. THE. TRASH. This toothbrush was now so soiled that it wasn't even allowed to join my stash of "Now used for Housework" toothbrushes. THAT. SOILED. I mean - everyone knows that the bathroom sink is just the mouth toilet, right?

Then I went to grab one of the other toothbrushes from my stash of emergency backup toothbrushes. (When you know you are crazy you keep a stash of toothbrushes, right? Because at any moment you could decide "That's not going back in my mouth." so you need to be prepared.) Only, I was out of emergency backup toothbrushes. 🙁 Also, I was out of money. 🙁🙁 (Yes, I was paid Friday and it's only Monday, but this is my life right now. The mortgage was hungry.)

So... I swished some Listerine and decided to deal with this later. Got on with my day. Ended up scrounging up $12.50 so I'm gonna be toothbrush shopping tonight! I will not only buy a toothbrush that I love (#treatyoself), but also a pack of cheapies in case any other mouth toilet accidents occur. Phew! Crisis averted.

I have been pretty quiet on here...

I have been pretty quiet on here, but I guess it's just because I feel about socialized out lately.  I'm not sure what it is, but I have a feeling that it's because I'm going everywhere and doing everything all the time.  This is my schedule right now, for realz.  This is me trying to make my ends meet.

Monday - Tutoring from 10 - 5 (SCM is closed on Monday for now, which is the norm in the summer)

Tuesday - Class from 10 - 2, work at SCM after

Wednesday - side job doing website until 12:30, then work at SCM

Thursday - side job doing website until 12:30, then work at SCM

Friday - SCM all day

At some point during all of that I have my kid and my ani-pals to take care of, chores, an online class, etc., to deal with.  Granted I'm not as stressed as last semester (yet!), but I just feel really anti-social.  In what little free time I have I've been watching nail art tutorials and nail art tool reviews on YouTube and lamenting my lack of time and money.  🙁

What I did for fun this weekend was stay holed up in my bedroom working on my Access database for Polish All the Things.  I learned a few things and it was cool.  Then I accidentally deleted part of it, but opened an older version and fixed my idiotic mistake and now I have a backup because I nearly had a heart attack when that happened and it was just super dumb to not have a backup.  Lesson learned.

Just finished my ethics homework for the week.  I think it's time to take a shower and then either work on my database some more... or possibly even paint my nails.  Nails is probably a safer bet because that ends.  I could sit here endlessly tinkering in Access.  😂

I didn't get a chance to update about Shadow's braces situation...

I didn't get a chance to update about Shadow's braces situation yesterday. Poor kid.  He has a mouth full of gear now.  He will probably think I'm making fun of him if he sees this, but I'm not.  His Herbst appliance (which looks kind of like pistons on each side of his mouth) makes mechanical sounds when he opens and shuts it.  LOL  He sounds like a robot to me - so that's weird.

Since his bottom jaw is a little small and he has an overbite they have his Herbst set to where it is holding his bottom jaw so forward that his bottom teeth are sticking out farther than his top now.  He kind of looks like a little bulldog.  That seems like overkill to me, but I'm just gonna trust that Dr. Benton has a good reason for it.  Also, they have a big thick wire along the inside of his bottom teeth and I think it's meant to apply pressure in a way that will encourage his jaw to grow.

Needless to say - he's in some pain.  And on top of that, he's throwing up today.  Maybe he picked up a virus when he was back there with his mouth wide open for hours while getting his teeth done.  😕  I don't know.  But I hate it when he feels so bad.

Anyway.  I'm ridiculously tired and super ready for the weekend.  I hope y'all are hanging by more than a thread!  ❤
