Final grades have posted!

Final grades have posted!  The only news I have (since I posted previously about my Cal II and Programming grades) is that I made a B in Physics.  I had (have?) mixed feelings about it because I'm pretty sure I was one of the top students in the class (it had dwindled down to about 6 people by the time the drop date came around), but that doesn't seem to be saying much, unfortunately.

The professor told me that a lot of people were struggling this semester.  He re-opened homework over spring break because basically no one was doing it besides me.  He also re-opened it up at the end for one other student that I know of.  This person went from an F to a C (somehow) right at the end of the semester so I'm not sure how that happened.  My thought is that if he scaled everyone the same my B should have turned into an A.

So on the one hand I feel like I should have gotten an A for effort (and also the reason above) because I consistently tried my best all semester.  But on the other hand I messaged him after he updated Blackboard and I had a B and he told me that was before any scaling and that I definitely earned it so I do feel accomplished.

Though I have some friends and family who are annoyed that I didn't come out with an A I feel like I'm just going to mind my business and take what I earned.  Also, I have given enough time and energy to spring semester so I'm not trying to fight about it.  😂  Physics is hard and I did a good job.  I may not have had the best test scores, but consistent, on-time hard work does count for something, apparently.

Also, I did better on the Thermodynamics test than I did on any other.  Heat engines and all that?  Really interesting stuff.  Who knew?  🙂  All in all, this was one of the most interesting and challenging classes I've ever taken.  I feel like there was so much to learn that I might like to take it again one day, but I can't focus on that right now.  Onward!  😃

Shaun is the best ever.  I do not know what I've done to deserve such a great guy, but he is treasure.  I wanted a nail polish collection that released today and he texted me from the Ren Fair with his card number because he didn't have an internet connection.  Just the fact that he remembered when he was out and about with friends...  *swoon*  I swear I am gonna marry him SO HARD the first chance I get.  I cannot wait to get a money job so I can spoil him the way he spoils me.

Y'all, it sold out in 4 minutes.  I got it, but DANG.  They are Tonics and and they are amazing and I knew that would happen.  Happy Graduation present to me!  🙂

They also got my degree wrong in the program, but as long as it's correct on my actual diploma - who cares!

Bad:  I took an antihistamine a few hours ago and I am still dizzy.  Also, it didn't work.  🙁

I'm gonna eat and see if I can get right.  If not I'm not sure I'm gonna trust myself to walk across a stage.  😕

Poor little buddy has skin allergies this time of year.  We've got an appointment in the morning so he'll feel better.  I wish Benadryl worked for him, but unfortunately that doesn't help him much.  We need vet-strength meds.  Poor Boo.  🙁

I had an amazing lunch at The Classic today...

I had an amazing lunch at The Classic today thanks to Ayers Trio Staff.  I can't possibly express all of my gratitude to them for all they have done for me over the last couple of years.  I am convinced that their support, mentorship, and encouragement are a major part of what has brought me so far.  Being a first-gen college student is hard - especially when you are non-traditional.  There are so many obstacles, but here I am graduating tomorrow.

Leaving Gadsden State after this summer is going to be bittersweet, but the Trio Staff has given me the confidence to tackle JSU.  I know that as a grown woman I shouldn't let a school intimidate me, but honestly the field trip they took us on to the JSU campus last summer made all of the difference.  It is programs like this that help people move forward.  No one can do this alone.

I can't wait until I am financially stable so that I can give back to the programs that have helped me change my life.  They are so necessary and not only help the students individually, but our communities as a whole.  Education is so important, but it's not always as easily attainable as you'd think.  So I just wanted to share this expression of gratitude to the Ayers Trio Staff for helping me on my journey.  I couldn't have asked for a better support system and thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Just finished my last final of the semester!

Just finished my last final of the semester!  😃

So... I made an A in Programming!  😁😁😁  My teacher told me at our last class meeting that she really thought I had a knack for it so that makes me happy.  Woohoo!

I made a B in Calculus (an 87), which makes me slightly regretful that I didn't re-take a test I'd planned to AND that I didn't do a bonus assignment.  Looks like had I put in a little more effort up there at the end it could have been an A, but legit - I've been trying to pour from an almost-empty cup for a while now.  This semester has really taken a lot of time, energy, effort, and brain power.  I went in knowing it would be hard with a back-up plan to drop a class if I needed to, but I am thankful that I was able to hang in there with all 3 classes and do so well.

Still waiting on my Physics grade.  It could be anything by now, but the last I checked (a few weeks ago) I had an 82.  Hopefully I will know something tomorrow.  Paws crossed that it isn't bad news!

And with that my brain is officially on vacation for 3 weeks.  No one ask me anything.  😛
