So last night I thought I'd start taking Chupa outside...

So last night I thought I'd start taking Chupa outside to see if I could get her to potty there.  She stood right between my feet the whole time.  Well, until she went back to the door.  Tried again this morning and she does the same.  If I try to walk with her I end up kicking her because she stays so close.  When I stand still she begs to be picked up.  Pitifully begs, might I add.  🙁

I think she's afraid I'm gonna take her out and leave her.  I am betting that is what happened to her.  Not necessarily dumped out (though that's entirely possible), but she's young and small and could have wandered off looking for a person.  I don't think any pet should be left outside to fend for itself, but she is so super tiny.  At least a larger dog is easier to see by drivers and could scare something else away from food to eat it.  😐

Anyway.  So she's not comfortable enough to potty outside yet.  We will keep trying.  Maybe once she realizes that she always gets to come back in with me that will ease her mind.

She seems pretty relaxed indoors.  She'll follow me around, but doesn't necessarily have to be right up on me.  I don't know what it is about my boy cat Balthazar, but she REALLY seems to like him.  She's fine with the other cats and the dog of mine that she's met.  That is all pretty good.  I like it when we get along.  🙂

I looked over a few minutes ago...

I looked over a few minutes ago to see Precious asleep with her arm in her mouth with her lips twitching slightly.  She really reminds me of a baby.

She woke up and wanted me to hold her so I picked her up.  She curled up in my lap and started purring and nursing on her arm.  And slobbering.  LOL  She seemed so content.  I held her and petted her for a while and then she fell asleep.

I really have to get up and do some cleaning so I got the treat bag and that woke her up.  I put her down and gave her a few treats and she's happy with that.  She is so sweet.  She really has these baby-ish mannerisms that just make me want to hold her and love her all the time.  I even have a big drool spot on my shirt.  LOL  She is really something else.  I've never met a cat like her.

Nancy - was she ALWAYS this adorable?  If so, I don't know how you can stand to be without her.  I just love her!  ❤

Oh my gosh.

Oh my gosh.  Precious is curled up asleep with her paw over her face, snoring.  😃  How cute!

The Chupacabra. Trying out this lap dog business.

The Chupacabra. Trying out this lap dog business.

She looks better already, doesn't she? It's amazing what a little TLC will do. ❤

Waiting patiently for a piece of chicken.

I know she needs a bath. Today was vet day. We'll save the bath for tomorrow.

I'm having one of those rare nights...

I'm having one of those rare nights where I have the house to myself.  Well, me and the creatures.  I always feel a little weird about that... I guess I'm not without my guys too often.

I think I'm gonna catch up on reading my nail blogs.  Maybe do some cleaning if I don't feel too lazy.

What are you folks up to this fine night?

These two colors were sitting out on my nail table...

These two colors were sitting out on my nail table and I was leaning towards just wearing the pink color, but when I put them both on to decide what I wanted to do I ended up REALLY liking the combination of the two.  I like the pink fine by itself, but I'm not a huge fan of all dark colored paintjobs.  Not on myself, anyway.  So I decided to go with two dark accent nails.  I really like how this turned out.  I will probably do this more often with my other dark colors.  It's not something I intentionally discovered, but I am glad that I did.  😃

I put a nail sticker on my pinky, and it looked fine when I went to bed last night, but when I got up today it looks a bit like it smudged.  I didn't even know that was possible.  😳  Oh well.

Back from the vet.

Back from the vet.

Beyonce had her shots so she's good until next year.  I brought her home and took her into Shadow's room (where she likes to hide lately), got her out of the carrier, and cuddled her.  She didn't freeze and drool this time - she purred.  She fucking purred!  😃  Yay for that!  When I let her go she stayed for a second and then went and got into her cage.  Whatever makes her happy is fine with me.  🙂  I am happy with her progress.

Scar (Laurel's kitten that is here for now) still has runny poo so he was tested for Coccidia.  He was negative, but he's got some pills to firm up his poo.  He also got shots.  He is doing much better than the first visit.  He had worms and some sort of cold.  He is a little love bug, but he demonstrated his water-pooping skills in the carrier for me on the way home.  YUCK.  LOL

Precious' big lump is just a cyst.  Maybe the same one from before, Nancy?  Does it look like it's in the same spot?  The vet said that it's nothing to worry about and that it doesn't hurt her.  He was touching on it and she didn't complain.  She sleeps on it so I guess it really doesn't bother her.  He said he could drain it (which I kind of wanted to see him do), but he said that it would just come back so I figured it would just be nicer to not put her through that.  The only real way to be rid of it for good would be surgery, but that seems extreme for something that isn't causing harm.  I don't really care what she looks like as long as she feels ok.  When her hair grows back in, it won't be noticeable anyway.

And finally, Chupa.  She's estimated to be about a year old.  You were right, Jennifer - she does have leftover puppy teeth still.  🙂  She was surprisingly negative for intestinal parasites, but the vet said that she does look anemic and he's worried about her skin.  She's got some crusty patches and her hair is very thin.  She's not scratching or anything, though.  She got a parvo vaccination and a big jar of vitamins.  He said just to keep her fed and that he wants to see her back in a few weeks.  She doesn't even weigh 5 lbs.

Chupa has gotten to where she is excited to see me (probably because I'm always bringing her chicken or ham or pepperoni or whatever, but I'll take it.  LOL)  She whines for me and she kind of "hugs" me sometimes.  She is too sweet.  I don't know where she came from or how she ended up where she did, but she's a little doll.  Once she's all healthy she will need a home.  Of course I like her, but I have a house-full.  No more forever dogs for me right now.  I am pushing my luck by bringing in another foster, but she's so tiny that she doesn't count.  😉  I haven't put her in with my dogs - she's with the cats for right now.  She might stay with the cats.  Nappy would crush her if she stepped on her and she never looks where she's going... she runs into my ass daily so I know this to be a completely legit worry.  😳

Anyway... off to get a shower, I think.  I feel a bit grody after hauling all those creatures around.  🙂
