So the crate thing... not going so well.

So the crate thing... not going so well.  Casper is screaming like a wookie and trying to open it with his teeth.  It's gonna be one of THOSE nights.  Perfect end to this weekend.  😳

Rough day, but it could have been much worse.

Rough day, but it could have been much worse.

Two of my dogs did get out of the fence, but we caught them up without incident. Bobby patched my fence and then Shaun reinforced it. Not that another flood wouldn't knock it down again, but it's secure for now.

The pipe that drains my a/c is stupidly long... to the point where unclogging it is very hard to do. So it freezes up and causes problems. Bobby cut it for me, so now it's draining into a bucket in a closet and I'll just empty it for now. That's a small price to pay to not burn to death in this AL heat. It can be routed into the drainage lines from the dog tub fairly easily, I think, and that would be pretty awesome. But for now I'll just empty the damn bucket. I'm not taking on another project right now.

Casper is in. He's not being too bad - yet. When I crate him for the night that might be a different story, but I hope not. My dogs are awesome - some of them are playing with him, and some of them are ignoring him. I guess they know the foster drill by now. He'll be crated when I'm not home to watch everyone, but other than that he'll be one of the pack. He's a little noisy, but he's calmed down a good bit. I think being able to burn some of his energy and interact with other dogs has been good for him. Maybe he'll even mellow a little more after his neuter. That's tomorrow, BTW. I'm ready for that. He's starting to hump. Gross. LOL

Teal'c is still hanging in there. He seems to have developed a breathing / clicking thing. The clicking stopped earlier today. I read that too much humidity can cause respiratory infections and I'm guessing that the house flooding and the a/c not working has definitely upped the humidity in the house. Thankfully, I got the dog room dried out with my all-nighter on Friday / Saturday, and the air is on now, and the dehumidifier is going, so maybe that's helping. I read that they usually treat URI's in dragons with a medication that would probably kill him in the state he's in right now, so I'm just hoping he manages to not get a URI. Somehow. 😐

Other than that I've still got the big ass limb on my cable line. And my garage is still wet.  And my grass is still tall. I'm so sore that I'm not planning to cut it in the next few days. Maybe I won't lose any dogs out there. LOL I'm also still pretty bummed about my little frog. I have no idea what happened to him. I heard him singing last night, but he was dead today.

Anyway, that's been my weekend and I am glad that it's over. Never thought I'd be looking forward to a Monday. LOL Thanks to mom, Bobby, and Shaun for helping me. I might have run away without you. ♥

If it wasn't for Mom, Bobby, and Shaun ...

If it wasn't for Mom, Bobby, and Shaun I would have seriously lost my shit today.  ❤

Let's recap:

Let's recap:
  • Teal'c is sick
  • A/C is broken
  • Grass DESPERATELY needs to be cut
  • Foster dog needs to come in, but might still have mange
  • House flooded
  • Limb on cable line

Let's just add to that:
  • My fence is broken
  • And one of my frogs is dead
  • I could use something good today

I feel stupid for asking, but...

I feel stupid for asking, but how do I tell if a dog is over the mange?  Casper had his last paramite dip last week and he looks a LOT better.  His scabs are mostly gone and his fur is fuller.  His legs still look a little pink, though.  I just need to know when it's safe to let him around my other dogs.  I do not want him sharing the scabies!

Yep. Sore as a mofo.

Yep.  Sore as a mofo.  😐  I don't often take pain pills, but Ibuprofen - here I come.  😳

And... 6 hours later I'm still not done.

And... 6 hours later I'm still not done.  But I've done all I'm gonna.  I hurt all over.  Even my fingernails.  Fuck the grass this weekend.  I don't think I'll be able to move when I get up.

Off to shower... and then maybe get some sleep.
