Shadow had orientation today.

Shadow had orientation today.  School starts Monday.  My kid is about to officially be a 7th grader!  The school said that even though the classrooms are in the middle school, they are considered high-schoolers and have some different rules.  Wow.  He's about to be a high-schooler.

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised with Shadow's new teachers.  I think Shaun was, too.  At least with the Science one.  🙂

Casper's home and acts like nothing ever happened.

Casper's home and acts like nothing ever happened.  He's gonna be really disappointed when I crate him shortly so I can go back to work.

Gonna feed Teal'c again.  He didn't drink much this morning.  He must not like what I made today.  LOL

Just got home a little bit ago.

Just got home a little bit ago.  Fed and washed Teal'c, then put him under the lamp.  He feels heavier and is pooping, so I guess that's good, right?  He's a bit dehydrated and I read that feeding foods can throw them into shock if they are dehydrated, so he's been on Pedialyte with Critical Care Powder and Multi-Vitamin and Probiotic Powder mixed in.  His skin is already moving back into place after I pinch him better than it was this morning, so that's something.  I don't know how long it takes to hydrate a lizard, but I'm glad for the improvement.  I've considered giving him fluid under the skin, but I wouldn't want to do that without guidance.  Maybe it's not necessary if he's drinking on his own.  When I called the vet they didn't say that they could do that, but I've heard of others doing that, so I don't even know.  😐  I kind of wish they would do that.  It would hydrate him faster.  Anyone have any thoughts on that?

I'm just sitting here with Teyla, letting Teal'c have the log and the light to himself.  She's smacking in my ear.  Wonder what the little porker is trying to tell me?  LOL  She is too funny.  She runs after her food with gusto and excitement, and always ends up with calcium powder on her head.  She's a mess.  A big, fat, healthy, happy mess.  LOL  I need to get up a good photo of her.  🙂  Messy face and all.  😃

Just dropped Casper off at the transport.

Just dropped Casper off at the transport.  He screamed the WHOLE TIME (I stayed and helped load the truck, etc).  He's such a baby, but I know he was scared.  He's in good hands, though.  🙂

Can't wait to get back a NEUTERED boy!  🙂

So the crate thing... not going so well.

So the crate thing... not going so well.  Casper is screaming like a wookie and trying to open it with his teeth.  It's gonna be one of THOSE nights.  Perfect end to this weekend.  😳

Rough day, but it could have been much worse.

Rough day, but it could have been much worse.

Two of my dogs did get out of the fence, but we caught them up without incident. Bobby patched my fence and then Shaun reinforced it. Not that another flood wouldn't knock it down again, but it's secure for now.

The pipe that drains my a/c is stupidly long... to the point where unclogging it is very hard to do. So it freezes up and causes problems. Bobby cut it for me, so now it's draining into a bucket in a closet and I'll just empty it for now. That's a small price to pay to not burn to death in this AL heat. It can be routed into the drainage lines from the dog tub fairly easily, I think, and that would be pretty awesome. But for now I'll just empty the damn bucket. I'm not taking on another project right now.

Casper is in. He's not being too bad - yet. When I crate him for the night that might be a different story, but I hope not. My dogs are awesome - some of them are playing with him, and some of them are ignoring him. I guess they know the foster drill by now. He'll be crated when I'm not home to watch everyone, but other than that he'll be one of the pack. He's a little noisy, but he's calmed down a good bit. I think being able to burn some of his energy and interact with other dogs has been good for him. Maybe he'll even mellow a little more after his neuter. That's tomorrow, BTW. I'm ready for that. He's starting to hump. Gross. LOL

Teal'c is still hanging in there. He seems to have developed a breathing / clicking thing. The clicking stopped earlier today. I read that too much humidity can cause respiratory infections and I'm guessing that the house flooding and the a/c not working has definitely upped the humidity in the house. Thankfully, I got the dog room dried out with my all-nighter on Friday / Saturday, and the air is on now, and the dehumidifier is going, so maybe that's helping. I read that they usually treat URI's in dragons with a medication that would probably kill him in the state he's in right now, so I'm just hoping he manages to not get a URI. Somehow. 😐

Other than that I've still got the big ass limb on my cable line. And my garage is still wet.  And my grass is still tall. I'm so sore that I'm not planning to cut it in the next few days. Maybe I won't lose any dogs out there. LOL I'm also still pretty bummed about my little frog. I have no idea what happened to him. I heard him singing last night, but he was dead today.

Anyway, that's been my weekend and I am glad that it's over. Never thought I'd be looking forward to a Monday. LOL Thanks to mom, Bobby, and Shaun for helping me. I might have run away without you. ♥

If it wasn't for Mom, Bobby, and Shaun ...

If it wasn't for Mom, Bobby, and Shaun I would have seriously lost my shit today.  ❤
