I am clearly out of practice. 🙁

I am clearly out of practice.  🙁  I don't like my edges too much, and I'm not used to having nubs this short!  Being sick sucks ass!  🙁

Most of my nails are painted in a dark brown - it's such a pretty color when the light hits it.  It's a nice shimmery, warm brown.  It was pretty cloudy today, though, so I couldn't get a good photo of it.  I hate that.

Anyway, I wanted a simple and easy manicure that felt kind of fall-ish.  Browns usually accomplish that.  I don't know why, but owls always make me think of fall.  Probably because of their natural colors, too.  So I was super-excited to get to wear my little owl dude.  Unfortunately, I re-did that nail probably 10 times.  No joke.  🙁  I was so out of practice that stamping was just... hard.  LOL  Anyway.  Maybe I can get back in my groove soon.  I hope so!

Pomona is kind of a night owl.

Pomona is kind of a night owl.  She gets all walk-y before she goes to bed so I sometimes let her loose in the game room while I'm watching TV and doing my nails.  She usually walks and runs and explores... and then hides somewhere and goes to sleep.  So we have this "hide and seek" thing going on.  It's kind of funny - especially when I find her.  She's always asleep so when I pick her up she's really squinty and disoriented-looking.  It's really cute.  Like a squinty, spikey, flat potato.  Haha.

Since I've felt so crappy lately I haven't spent much time just hanging out with any of my tail-babies so I thought I'd let her out tonight.  I realized that Emma hadn't met her yet (and that she probably should now that Em's in the dining room where Pomona lives), so I got Pomona out and held her low where they could see each other.  (For the record:  I would NOT do this with just any dog, but Emma's REALLY REALLY good.)  Normally, Emma is the first one to sniff and lick a new buddy, but Pomona beat her to it and licked Emma on the nose.  Oh, how I WISH I'd had a camera ready!  The look on Emma's face was adorable.  "I think that spikey thing just licked me!"  LOL  I was pleasantly surprised that Pomona didn't seem phased at all to be held in a dog's face.  She didn't flare out or show her beard or anything.  Just licked the dog and was like, "Time to walk now!"

My creature family brings me so much joy.  I just don't understand people who don't love animals.

Found this sweet girl...

Found this sweet girl in Munford on 11/25/2012. She was a little skinny and a little scared, but otherwise in good shape. She had on no collar, so I had her scanned at Animal Medical Center on 12/01/2012. No microchip was found. The tech said that she believed Maya to be 9-12 months old. She said that she looks like an Anatolian Shepherd mix and that she still has some growing to do. No visible spay scar, but she doesn't look to have had a litter of puppies - thank goodness!

If you know where this dog belongs, please have her owners contact me! FB is good, or I can also be reached at 256-365-8245. She looks like she must have been someone's baby. OWNERSHIP WILL HAVE TO BE VERIFIED via photos and / or vet records. I hope she wasn't dumped. If the original family cannot be found I will be looking for her a new forever home.

PLEASE, PLEASE SHARE! I'm sure that someone is missing her!

If curiosity killed the cat, then Midna must be going for suicide!

If curiosity killed the cat, then Midna must be going for suicide!

I let the dogs out at 11 for their last bathroom break and Scooter and Lowrider didn't go out.  Neither of them are bad with cats, but they aren't exactly polite to them.  Well, I opened the door to let the rest of the crew in and Scoot decided "Oh crap - I'd better run out - last chance to go!"  So I let him go out as the other dogs came in.  As I was putting Casper in his crate I heard Faith scolding someone and running.  So I looked over and Midna was hopping back over the gate to the dog room!  (Thankyouverymuch, OCD Faith, for keeping everyone in order.  LOL)

I have no idea how long she'd been in there.  I don't know if she snuck in when it was just Scoot and Lowrider or if she was being really brave and came in when all the other dogs did.   Either way, there was not a point where the room was empty of dogs and she was still in there on their turf.  Homegirl is being cRaZy!

I know she loves the dogs (she likes their funk - she will roll all over them if they'll let her) but she is usually only comfortable around one or two at a time.  Any more than that and she goes up high and waits for them to leave.  Maybe she was just craving some puppy love.  😳  That's the second time I've caught her in the dog room recently, but the last time all the dogs were outside so it wasn't a huge deal.  I'm just glad I saw her before I let them in.  I guess I'm going to have to start keeping an eye out for her.  Silly funny cat.  ❤
