Independence Day is one of the few holidays...
Independence Day is one of the few holidays that I don't disagree with celebrating. However, our method of celebration with loud fireworks is awful. We can and should do better.

Me and Shaun have gone hard at the house in Anniston for the last 3 weeks.
Me and Shaun have gone hard at the house in Anniston for the last 3 weeks. Shaun didn't go one day because the paint fumes were getting to his lungs, but other than that we both worked every single day.
We painted almost the whole house, had Merry Maids clean, still ended up scrubbing a couple of rooms they didn't have time for, upgraded a few fixtures and switches, replaced most of the blinds, had the carpet cleaned and outdoors power washed by Southern Carpet Cleaning and Pressure Washing LLC, paid a neighbor to help with yard work and got the kids to do some, too, not to mention emptying the house / building and taking care of other details / minor repairs.
I am crashing as I type this. I am so, so exhausted. But our house looks great if I do say so myself and she is ready for her glamour shots. I'll be sure to post a link once she's listed!

Look who just woke me up crawling on my leg
Look who just woke me up crawling on my leg - the same leg that was already bitten, and in almost the exact same place. Since my leg hasn't rotted off and is pretty much healed I don't think I can blame this creature. However, according to Google this bebe is a Brown Recluse. I caught him and took him outside.
Edited to add:
Well, according to this the bites don't always turn necrotic. I guess it could have been this one or one of his friends / family. I don't know. But I'm fine and I'm not mad at whoever bit me.

Today I painted...
Today I painted 2 bathrooms and about ⅓ of a large room. I'm talking the whole 9 yards - dusting walls, taking down switch plates, taping, cutting in, and rolling. We didn't have a ladder with a tray to hold things so I was up and down our ladder ALL. DAY.
I discovered that I'm getting good at cutting in without tape; I did an entire door frame and the wall where it meets a popcorn ceiling pretty perfectly. I think the trick for me is to be exhausted, perched precariously, and holding my breath. 😂😂😂 Usually I do more fine work with my left hand but in this case depending on the angle my right hand might be better.
Another thing I did was chase down a neighbor who was riding on his lawn mower. 😂 We want him to do some work in our yard (he'd offered before) and we hadn't been able to catch him outside. So there I go, covered in paint, paintbrush in hand, titties flapping in the wind - chasing after this nice unsuspecting man. I caught him and he was so nice. His teeth were beautiful. And he came over after he was done mowing to see what needed to be done and give us a price. He came in for a bit and also complimented my lines. 😃
Needless to say - I'm exhausted. Shaun also worked hard today. He painted some ceilings and changed out some fixtures and put up a new mailbox among other things. The house in Anniston is coming together nicely and I'm really excited to see it finished. I know it's going to be a great home for someone. It's kind of bittersweet now that it's getting close to not being ours, but that's ok.
Anyway, I'm probably about to crash out. I hope you all are doing well. ❤️

Y'all remember my giant crazy twisty aloe that I repotted?
Y'all remember my giant crazy twisty aloe that I repotted? The big plants still look crazy, but they've got babies now.

I'm pretty sure a chipmunk dug a hole down this one. I know I did not pot it this way. 😂 |

I think a chipmunk went digging in this one. I found it knocked over and low on dirt. |

Look at all the little baby aloe! |

This one is crammed full. I don't even understand how it has so many in there. |

Another pot just filling up. Wild. |
