Is this my life now? Saving buggy bois from drowning?

I have a feeling that me and Shadow will be constantly saving bugs. Poor kid. He's definitely mine with his soft heart. We can't just watch someone struggle and do nothing if we have the ability.

The pool guys came yesterday and started up our pumps and filters and all that. They told us what chemicals and amounts to add last night. They left some cleaning equipment and showed us how to use it. Shaun vacuumed and skimmed the pool yesterday. Shadow and Kira took turns skimming yesterday evening. Our cover will be installed on Monday, so until then stuff will be blowing in.

Shaun tested the water today and the chemicals aren't quite right yet. I think he's having a good time with all of this maintenance stuff.

At some point in the near future the pool company will schedule a time to come over and do "pool school" to make sure we know how to take care of everything. They will also bring our robot vacuum and teach us about it. So that should be pretty fun.

Supposedly, we are cleared by the pool company to swim this weekend. The pool still has final inspections to pass, but it's basically done. We might test it out later when the kids are ready. Kira wants our first official swim to be as a family, so that's the plan.

We went walking this morning for the first time in about 100 years.  It's been very hot and I've been struggling with depression a li'l bit and I sleep more when I'm struggling so I haven't been waking up early enough to walk like I should, but I'm trying so get off me.

ANYWAY.  We saw this neat little owl in the wall around the subdivision.  Who ever looks in those holes?  I mean... I do, but Shaun actually found this somehow with his tall self.  What an adorable little real-life Easter egg!

Also, I made a friend today!  He was so chubby and cute and long and I wanted to hold him but Shaun didn't like that idea so I didn't.  But like, I really, REALLY wanted to.  😂  My short, stumpy hand for scale, I guess.

Look who just woke me up crawling on my leg

Look who just woke me up crawling on my leg - the same leg that was already bitten, and in almost the exact same place. Since my leg hasn't rotted off and is pretty much healed I don't think I can blame this creature. However, according to Google this bebe is a Brown Recluse. I caught him and took him outside.

Well, according to this the bites don't always turn necrotic. I guess it could have been this one or one of his friends / family. I don't know. But I'm fine and I'm not mad at whoever bit me.

I think something bit me on the leg about 4 days ago. I didn't feel it when it happened and it doesn't hurt now, but the first couple of days it itched and was tender and warm. I'm not super concerned since it doesn't hurt, but does anyone have a guess as to what might have done this?

The big spot is the supposed bite. The smaller dots are psoriasis, so just the usual.

After I lotioned up and went to bed I noticed a fly in my room. He came towards my phone light so I caught him like a ninja. Then I climbed out of my loft bed, down the ladder with one slippery lotion hand (because the other was holding the fly). Then I took him out and released him.

When I say that I love all of the creatures - it's honestly not an exaggeration. I hope he has a good night. ❤️

I legit feel so accomplished right now. I'm not known for being fast, but I just caught a fly with my hand! Then I took him outside to be free. 😊

I was going to bed and I was like "Ugh, I don't want him to keep me awake." so I reached out and grabbed him. I'm a freaking superhero.

OhMyGOSH y'all. I'm photographing my plants (who all live indoors, mostly in my BEDROOM) and I picked up a pot and there was a centipede under one. 😳 I am not grossed out or scared of bugs, but I got goosies - probably purely from the shock of finding him there. He looked so neat with his little butt pinchers.

In other news:  If anyone wants to see what all plants I have by name I'm currently cataloging them in the GardenTags app and my user name there is "fairlyoddblu". I think this will be a quick and easy way to know what I've got. Spreadsheets / databases are fun, but unwieldy on mobile devices. 🙂

I just woke up out of a nice sleep...

I just woke up out of a nice sleep to something crawling on my arm. It was a TICK! My bed is 6 feet off the ground. Seriously?! 😳

I woke up with a teensy spider on my neck this morning. It tickled.

I touched Beyonce's butt last night. She didn't like it.

I've been ok all day, but I feel headache-y and nauseated now. 🙁

I went on the porch maybe an hour ago?  And I walked into a spider web.  Whatever.

Well my hair was tickling just now, so I brushed my hand over it and a spider fell out onto my clothes.  I'm about to take him back outside.  We're cool.  But what is it with me and having spiders in my hair?  This is not the first time.  LOL

Maybe they just know that I like them.  😃

Well hello, little dude! He's so small. I just noticed him coming up my leg. He left a snot trail, but you can't see it because of the flash. 

I took him back outside. He must have hitched a ride in on my boot.

This old asshole farmer just tortured a wasp in front of me. He pulled his stinger out and then said "Look at my pet." 🙁 I told him that wasn't nice so he pulled its head off. I guess that was a quick death, at least. But my heart hurts and I'm sad.

Made a friend at lunch today. He's an inch worm! Probably the tiniest one I've ever seen.
