Good news today!

The doctor said Oreo can probably go home tomorrow around mid-day. Clots are improving and liver values look normal and white blood cell count is good.

They want to cut his fluids slowly and switch him to oral medication and make sure it all stays down. He's eating very well - everything but Pill Pockets. 😂

My heart feels happy. I am so thankful that he's on the mend. I am so grateful to all of you who care about him and check on him and have shared or donated to his GoFundMe. This has been a super stressful couple of weeks, but I am feeling the love and we both needed it.

I hate to ask y'all to share his GoFundMe one more time, but as of this morning the bill for his hospitalization was $4599.68. 😬 If online donations aren't your jam, you can call VCA Animal Medical Center in Anniston, AL at 256-236-8387 and donate directly to his bill. I checked on Oreo...

I checked on Oreo before the vet closed today. He's still eating well and keeping his food down. Still on fluids for the night.

I will post an update when I hear from his doctor tomorrow. If he's cleared to be released from the hospital he will go into a temporary foster home to continue to recuperate. Once his health is stable enough that he can travel he will either be brought to me by a friend or I will go pick him up. I hope to have him back by my side within a few weeks.

We're home safe. New Mexico welcomed us back with snowy mountains and a beautiful sunset. I'm glad to be back.  ❤️

Oreo is still eating and drinking and holding it down! I am so grateful for this news! ❤️❤️❤️

I called to check on Oreo once more...

I called to check on Oreo once more before the hospital closed. He's been eating every time food is offered (and not throwing up!), so that is great news. He even ate some of his meds in food though he's usually an expert in finding them and spitting them out.

I heard he sat on one of the nurses laps and watched a little bit of Harry Potter before his last walk. That is music to my ears because he could barely stand up to see me when I visited him a few days ago.

Paws crossed that he can be released on Monday! ❤️❤️❤️

Oreo just had his heart checked again. The clots are still there, but are improving! ❤️❤️❤️ He will continue on Plavix!
