As bad as I felt I think last night was pretty good. I was a complete baby, and Nick patiently took care of me. He's more and more awesome every day. Shadow was really sweet, also... he told me I didn't have to read him a bed time story if I was sick. I don't think he could understand how much I appreciated that last night. Also, the little hedgehog sounds coming from the little castle in her tank were so adorable... I just love that thing. She's awesome. I love how friendly she is. I hate to say it, but I want one of my own and so does Shadow... and it's so hard to resist buying more. I really can't right now, though. I mean, I could, but I shouldn't. ...um, THE END.

bittersweetness, from :( to :)
So... I was a little weird yesterday. No big surprise there, I guess. I didn't feel very good... in fact, I felt really bad (as in sick). I didn't want to do anything at all, so me, Nick, and Shadow decided we'd all relax and watch a movie. We put in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and for some reason I cried through like, the first half. I cried at the little crooked house, I cried at the cute li'l old man, I cried when people wanted to buy the kid's ticket off him, I cried at how utterly strange Willy Wonka looked, I cried when all of the little kids were assholes... damn. That's not all, either - just what I can remember. I didn't think that was supposed to be a sad movie. Really, I think it was more just me and my state of mind. I do that pretty frequently, (get really emotional). A lot of times I laugh or cry sort of uncontrollably. Lately (although it hasn't always been the case) it's been more laughing than anything, but I guess I can't expect to always be jolly - especially when physically I feel like crap. Overall I liked the movie, though. Especially the end.

HEDGEHOG PICS!!!
Yep... the name says it all! 😁
Aren't they adorable??? I love the little sounds they make and the little snot bubbles they blow... awww!!! Nick's seems to be the more sociable one at the moment... she's very active and friendly. Steph's just kind of stays balled up... the more we played with him last night the more relaxed he seemed, though. It's a big adjustment for the both of them so I understand. All in all the three of us are really pleased with them... not to mention Shadow. He was so excited, too. He wants to get one and name it Sonic. Yeah... not very original, but hey - he's five. So whatever. 😂 I don't know that he'll be getting one... I really need to be getting a bigger place if I plan to keep this up. (Which doesn't sound too bad to me ). But anyhoo, I stray. There's our new babies. Enjoy the pics!

I must be crazy... NEW PET(S). :D
Yeah... yeah, I did it again. New pets. More. AND I'M SO DAMN EXCITED! Really neither of them were for me, but that doesn't matter. One's gonna live with me and the other is gonna visit, so... anyway, here's the story.
Ok, Nick has been wanting a hedgehog FOREVER. Every time we visit the pet store that's what he talks about (among other things, but that mainly). So me, him, and Steph went there today and I wanted to see one out of the cage because I was curious. So of course they took it out and then it ROLLED UP IN A BALL. OMG!!! I didn't know they really did that! I was hooked. I had to buy it. So Nick got a hedgehog. She's a girl and she's adorable. Only 14 weeks old!
But things did not stop there. There was only one left and he so happened to be a man-hog and it was obvious that Steph had fallen for him so we got him, too. FOR REAL. I bought two hedgehogs today - one for Nick and one for Steph. I'm freakin' crazy. I truly believe that after today. Seriously, though... we want to see if we can get them to have little hedge-piglets and if they did I could actually make my money back and that would be pretty cool. If not - they were still worth it. They are AWESOME!!! THE END!

I'm like a Ninja Turtle...
Yeah, I'm like a Ninja Turtle. Not only because I could kick your ass, but because I love pizza so much. Seriously, I LOVE pizza. I've eaten it several times a week for the last few years. (And I'll let you in on a little secret... that's how I maintain my girlish figure). Anyway, with as much pizza as I eat it would be correct for one to believe that a pizza cutter would be the most important utensil in my kitchen. And of course I had one. It was passed from my mother to me when I moved out on my own and it had proven itself over the years. It was a good cutter... it had been there for me through thick crust and thin.
Anyway, on with the story. One day I was hungry. VERY hungry. So I thought that pizza sounded good and popped one in the oven. That would satisfy me just fine and so that's what I did. As it cooked it started to smell really good and I got hungrier and hungrier. FINALLY, the moment came when it was done. And it looked and smelled wonderful. I wanted to devour immediately, but I knew the right thing to do would be to cut it first. So I began to look for my trusty pizza cutter. I looked and looked - everywhere it could possibly be. The dishwasher, the sink, the table, the refrigerator (sometimes it inadvertently got stuck in there with leftovers), all of the drawers in the kitchen, and the oven (?)(just in case). It was nowhere to be found. I was truly bummed out and by then my pizza had gotten cold. So I cut it with a knife and ate it anyway, though much less satisfied than I would have been if it were hot and not mangled by a knife.
That was over a year ago and I have to say that it has baffled me the whole time as to where my pizza cutter could have gone. It has been missed. So as of now you may be thinking what a pointless story it is that I'm telling (and that it may be), but it does have an ending - or closure, if you will. Just the other day I was thoroughly cleaning my refrigerator and took the drawers from the bottom to clean them and that's when I saw it. It didn't quite look the same; it had accumulated some rust, but it was recognizable - indeed, it was my pizza cutter. It had lived a cold hard life (for over a year, at least) in the depths of the fridge. Apparently, there was an accident in which it had taken quite a fall from one of the shelves to the very bottom where it had survived and stayed quietly for all this time.
As happy as I was that I had finally solved the mystery of the missing pizza cutter it was definitely a bittersweet find, for I had moved on... to a newer, younger, sharper cutter with no rust. Life is cruel. Alas, I couldn't keep it around as a back-up; that is not an honorable thing to do. Aside from that it was old and not in very good shape anymore. I was forced to retire it. It deserved a break. But to my old trusty cutter: This pizza-flavored blog is a tribute to you. You will not be forgotten. Thank you for all of your years of service. And that, my friends, is THE END.

Just my recent days and stuff...
Life has been pretty fun lately. Friday, me, Nick, Shadow, and Jajuan went out to eat at Logan's. Damn, I love the food there. It was nice; of course there was a bit of a wait because they were so packed, but we got to sit outside on a bench until a table was ready. The weather was actually pretty mild - just a wee bit chilly; it felt really good to get some fresh air.
As we were finishing up our food I felt something hit me in the leg. I was digging in my purse so I thought I dropped something and looked down and then I saw a peanut come flying over and hit me again. 👀 I hadn't really been paying attention, but a couple with four cross-eyed kids had occupied the table next to us. And two of the kids were throwing handfuls of peanuts at each other. This continued for a good 10 minutes. 😠 I glared at them forever just to see if I could catch anyone's attention and I saw the dad throwing nuts with them. WTF? I wanted to stab them all in the head with my fork. I didn't, though. I was extremely appalled with everyone's behavior. I couldn't imagine letting my kid act that way.
Well, I didn't let that ruin my night. 😊 In fact, I had forgotten about it until I started writing about going out to eat. So then we all went to Blockbuster. It was neat because I ran into someone I knew from high school; I think this was only about the third time I'd seen him since he finished. It was cool... he and Nick seemed to hit it off pretty well and he ended up coming over and hanging out for a while. I hope he comes around more often - I was always fond of him. He's a good guy. Anyway, we watched "The 40 Year-Old Virgin." It was a cute movie.
On to Saturday... Shadow spent the night away from home; this was the first time he'd done that without staying with a grandparent. Yep - he was with a friend. And he stayed all night without a problem, too. I was pleasantly surprised. Saturday night we ended up hanging out with Colin and Nancy... for whatever reason I felt like joining in the video game fun and handed Nick his ass playing "Dead or Alive." I didn't win against Colin or Nancy, but I held my own. It was fun. Now I'm all looking forward to playing it again.
Sunday was pretty much spent with family...
And now Monday: When I came in to work Monday morning the boss had rearranged the office to make room for the new partner; this meant that I was going to have my own space, finally. But it turned out horrible. He had rearranged over the weekend so he didn't have my input at all. 😐 So after an hour or so of me complaining I convinced him to move a few things and now it ROCKS! I'm so comfortable in my cubicle-type space. 😁 He seemed happy with it, too. He said he'd originally set things up that way, but didn't think I'd have enough room. I was just like, "You know I'm not as big as you, right?" 😂 So anyway, I'm feeling pretty optimistic about work - what with our new partner and my comfy little spot in which to get things done. Yay for me!

Welcome back, Blu... : )
... I'm thinking happy thoughts right now. I've been in a pretty awesome mood for like... well, a while now. I'm loving it. I honestly think it's because (for now, at least) I have pretty much all I've ever wanted. I absolutely COULD NOT ask for more. Seriously, it's beyond good... I'm actually starting to feel comfortable, secure... I feel pieces of me peeking out... pieces of myself... starting to feel less shy - like I'm finally recovering and I don't know how that happened, but DAMN, I'm not complaining. I've missed me, missed having me around...
I'm so happy right now I could cry. I'm crying. If you knew the back story, (which dates back 6-ish years), you'd understand. (I'll probably blog about it and explain at some point). But that's how long I've been gone. I've wanted to come back for a while now, but I didn't have the courage. I didn't have the strength, either. I was too scared. But for quite some time I've had someone in my life who was patient, who deemed me worthy of their time, and I really feel like it's starting to sink in. You know who you are and I appreciate you. I'd be lost without you. I don't feel like my journey back to me is nearly complete, but I feel like I'm making progress. And that feels damn good.

Saturday / Chocolate Hair
So Saturday turned out quite nicely. We (a big group of people I like) went out and did stuff. We went go-kart riding first. Nick and I didn't participate, but Shadow did and I think he liked it. It was funny because the girl who was driving his car rear-ended the row of cars that stopped in front of her. It happened on accident (no one was hurt), but it was pretty damn funny.
After that we went out to the Mellow Mushroom. The food was pretty good... I wish I had gotten some cheese sticks or whatever they call them there, but I didn't think about it. Oh well. So after that we went to the bowling alley which reminded me of a laundry-mat (or the skating rink for that matter). It kind of grossed me out... I didn't bowl, but I still had a good time. Btw, Nick looked really cute in those bowling shoes.
Anyway, someone was kind enough to let Shadow have their turn and give bowling a try and that proved quite funny. He lugs the ball up there, sits it down, and kicks it. 😆 It didn't go very far so he walked after it and tried to kick it again. Needless to say he fell flat on his back. His feet flew right up over his head. It was hilarious. 😂😂😂 He was fine, though.
Oh, and that was one of the slowest gutter balls I've ever seen. Yeah, someone had to actually roll a gutter ball on purpose to get it to go all the way down the lane. So then me and Shadow went home and took a few pictures. Here's the first one... looka my chocolate hair (and no, I don't wear it that way). The second one my boy actually took. We were goofing off. 😀
Ok, THE END.
