I've felt very grateful this week for where we are.

I've felt very grateful this week for where we are. I went with a friend to the tea shop and it was such a lovely visit. I am so happy for all of the nice things around us - even (maybe especially) those we've yet to discover.

Coming from a small town to a place that has things I'm interested in feels amazing. I am really enjoying getting to know our new hometown and there is so much we haven't even seen yet. I'm just soaking it all in.

Yesterday me, Kira, and Kalien went to a neat little Boba and Ramen shop. The food and drinks were so good and the place was decorated adorably. I don't even know where I'm going with this. I'm just happy. This is just a rambly appreciation post, I guess.

Right now I'm trying this house tea blend from the New Mexico Tea Company. I've never had a smoked tea before, but it's interesting (in a good way). I like it.

Also, there is this:

I feel so cared-for here. I feel safer than I ever have. I'm so grateful every day that we made it out of Alabama.

I had the skate park to myself again this morning.

I had the skate park to myself again this morning. It was nice - a new park this time. The half pipe was super-smooth. The regular pavement was less great, but still fun. I only wish I'd gone earlier.

Cub seems to be back to normal...

Cub seems to be back to normal - thank goodness. I would have updated yesterday, but I slept on the couch again the night before and felt pretty awful yesterday. Shaun and I both slept in our room last night and it was nice that we both got some rest.

I've been battling tension headaches for a few days now. I think that worrying about the pup and sleeping badly really got to me, but hopefully I'll feel better soon, too.

I hope you all are doing well. ❤️

Cub's stomach seems to have somewhat settled for now, thank goodness.

Cub's stomach seems to have somewhat settled for now, thank goodness. But he has chosen Shaun as his person and there is no substitute. He just came to me with his ears back, looking sad. Wouldn't sit by me. Headed away from the couch so I followed. I tried to take him out. I offered him food. No. He wanted in Shaun's game room with him and was pitiful until he got in. Little sweet brat. 😂

Pupdate:

Cubba is still having diarrhea. Shaun didn't find canned pumpkin yesterday, but got something for Cub from PetSmart. It didn't help. We got canned pumpkin this morning and he's been eating it. If we don't see improvement by tomorrow we're going to call the vet.

Yesterday was rough for me. I didn't sleep well the night before when I was on the couch and up with Cub every few hours through the night. I very nearly got a migraine and napped off and on all day yesterday.
Shaun decided to leave Cub's doggie door unlocked and sleep on the couch with him last night. I slept great in our room upstairs, but now Shaun's having a rough day today because he was awake off and on all night. Fun times around here.

Anyway, here's a pic of the pup resting. He loves blankets, too, so pardon the messy couch.

So... Cubba was up all night pooping.

So... Cubba was up all night pooping. Good thing I'm a light sleeper and quick to wake up because when he needed outside - he NEEDED outside. Poor buddy. His li'l tummy is MESSED UP.

Shaun and I had been wondering for days if he could've gotten into our hot sauce. We had some friends over on Sunday and ate nuggets with the Season 17 lineup of sauces from Hot Ones (on YouTube) and no one fed Cub anything hot. When I gathered the dirty dishes I wiped the leftover food into the trash can and rinsed the plates and a few minutes later put them into the dishwasher. I thought we'd been really careful.

With Cub's first round of diarrhea Shaun said it looked like it had some spices in it. This morning he also found a chewed napkin outside. So now we're thinking this bad boy might have somehow raided the trashcan. It has a pedal and closes immediately after you step off of it. It's metal and heavy and hasn't been knocked over. If Cub did get in there then he must've been careful. It wasn't overfilled with stuff sticking out - we know for sure that's a temptation and don't do that.

Anyway, that's our working theory at the moment about what's going on with our buddy, but if he's not feeling better soon then he'll see the vet this week. Here's a picture of him staring out of the window and questioning his life choices. 😂
