Nom came out to eat yesterday. He walked around for a bit. Maybe he just needed to know he was missed. I don't know, but I'm keeping a close eye on him.

Sindar looks like she might have a UTI. I called the vet that we normally use on the weekends and they are only doing emergency visits today. She has an appointment for tomorrow morning.

Tobi didn't throw up again yesterday so that's great. I'll call his regular doctor when they open tomorrow and get him an appointment ASAP.

Shaun got magnetic closures installed on the lower cabinets yesterday. I got the upper ones contact-papered and lined, and put away the dishes that Shaun brought home. He also brought Anansi home, so I'm happy about that.

I woke up this morning to a bad headache. I think it's hormonal. I've taken Tylenol twice already and it's not helping. I'm about to take a nap.

A pipe in the well burst (we're guessing last night). We have city water in the house so we're fine, but the basement and garage got a relatively small bit of water in them. More to deal with so that sucks, but we're really glad it wasn't worse.

That's all I have right now. I gotta go deal with my head. I still have a lot to do, but I'm not doing anything else until I feel better. 😕

As of today we have all 10 cats moved in. We still need to get Koopa (horned lizard) and Anansi (tarantula) moved, plus Cubba and Rose. We're working on it. I just want everything / everyone moved into the sun room before we get the dogs. I would hate to have to go through the gate and battle them to the doorway while carrying critters, or even things. I'm already struggling as it is.

We got a lot done last night, but both of my guys injured me yesterday. Shaun was trying to lay my back seats flat so he could fit more stuff in my car. In the spirit of being helpful I pulled the release so that the seat would fold. Fun fact: the release lives in the crack between the butt part and the back part of the seat. While I was pulling the release he slammed the seat forward to fold it. That would have sucked less had the seat next to it not already been folded down. Alas, it had and my elbow was resting on it. So when Shaun slammed the seat forward it put a lot of pressure on my elbow in the wrong direction. I rarely exclaim in pain, but I did that time.

Later last night I was showing Scar around the house and he was nervous. I take responsibility for not being more thoughtful of his needs. I opened a door and it made a loud sound. He freaked out to flee and in the midst of that scratched me pretty deep above my right eyebrow. Hilarious, considering this is a week I'd planned to have pictures made. 😂😂😂

A fun thing that happened today was that Ashanti (cat) decided to sneak out of the screen door that has problems closing. We ordered parts to repair it yesterday, but they won't arrive until tomorrow. Our cats are strictly indoor cats. We would like to get them a catio so that they can get fresh air, but that's a "let Blu get a job first" typa task. 😂 Back to the story:  I went out to get Ash and she was like "Fine, ok." But then we couldn't find Adrian (also a cat). Shaun and I both looked for like, an hour. We couldn't find her anywhere. Not in the cabinets, not on top of the fridge, not under the couches, not in the closets. We even looked outside although we didn't think it was possible she got out. Since we had stuff to do, we eventually decided to go do it. When we got home she was sleeping on the couch. We still have no idea where she was hiding, but we're glad she's accounted for. I was REALLY worried.

Anyway, we've been moving stuff all day and are pretty exhausted. I'm definitely going to be feeling it tomorrow. Well, I need to get off the internet (and also my butt) because I have a long list of things to do. Nothing urgent, but disorder gets to me mentally and I just need to handle it for my own sake. I hope you all are doing well! ❤️

Shaun and I have both been cleaning...

Shaun and I have both been cleaning and organizing for the last few days. I don't care how lame this sounds, but I'm THRILLED with my "craft" closet. I have all of my jewelry and supplies in there. I also have packing materials, wrapping paper, tissue paper, gift bags, etc. in there; all organized and easily accessible. I told the kids and Shaun not to buy packaging for special occasions because I have us covered. Much of it is recycled because I can't bear to throw pretty things away. I just can't stand waste. I mean how would anyone know that the tissue paper in their gift bag was crinkled before? They wouldn't.

The other big thing I did was organize my nail polish stuff. The polish itself was sorted by color a few years ago with the help of Janet, but I've gotten a few gels over the last couple of years, as well as the chrome powders and transfers that you can use with them. I didn't realize that I had so many foils, either. That situation was pretty out of hand but it's under control now. In any case all of my gel stuff is sorted and I kind of feel inspired to do some nail art. I still have some things to accomplish around here first, though. We'll see.

Aside from that the only things worth mentioning are that I moved my betta (Salamander), into the kitchen, and our tarantula (Anansi), into the living room. I would like to buy some new shelves for my bedroom because the ones I have are very old and sagging under the weight of my plants and books, but that's not urgent (hopefully).

It feels nice to be doing things I care about. I'm pretty bummed that Shaun has to go back to work tomorrow but the time off was good for him. I've enjoyed spending time with him and the kids. And snuggling my old puppies on the couch. And having my cats home (we got them from the kids' house recently).

Things have been going surprisingly well considering that there are now 10 cats (yes, ten! 😲) in this house. Shaun's biggest worry was that they would pee everywhere, but we clean the boxes every day and it hasn't been an issue. Aside from the expected initial hissing everyone is getting along. I've missed Balthazar grooming my nails and Tobi (Orange) hopping around with his adorable no-tail having self. I've missed love bug Adrian and the weird way she drapes herself over the arm or back of the couch. I've missed Scar less because he was more Shadow's cat, but they'll be reunited soon. Anyway, it's good. I feel whole. ❤️

Tfw you wake up at 5:45 to pee, then you break a nail, and then you hear your tarantula walking around so since you can't get back to sleep you get up and clean the tarantula house and refresh her dirt, walk the dogs, get an eyeball scraped by Faith's wagging tail, and try to go back to bed but end up on the Internet at 6:30 a.m. 😒

Well, Anansi has a bigger house with slightly drier dirt.  It will continue drying out because I've got the heat on in here so hopefully she will be happy soon.  But for now she is sad.  🙁

If you've never seen a tarantula pout - count yourself lucky.  We were trying to get her back into her house and she didn't want to go so she's in a corner with her legs drawn up.  It's pitiful.  What's worse is that we can't cuddle her and console her.  I think me and Shaun just had our hearts broken a little.  🙁

Gotta say:

Gotta say: I've been SUPER LAZY in the weeks I've been out of school. LOL But I feel like I needed and deserved it.

To make up for that I spent the last few hours working to catch up on the important things I wanted to do. Here is a list of what I accomplished (with Shaun's help, of course):

• Put up fresh, bright "NO TRESPASSING" signs
• Washed 1/2 of my dogs
• Washed towels because I used them all on dogs 😛
• Washed two lizards
• Cleaned two lizard houses
• Gave Anansi fresh dirt
• Started washing dog blankets so as to not stink the dogs back up 😂

That is not everything that I needed / wanted to do, but the animals are turning in and I'm not going to disturb them. I'm trying to wind down myself. I'm nervous / excited about tomorrow. I have Physics first and then Calculus. Computer Programming is on Tuesday / Thursday. I don't know why, but this feels like such a big deal. Bigger than the usual beginning of a semester. Maybe I'm all hyped because this is the last one before I graduate GSCC even though I plan to stay on for one more semester. I'm not sure. But anyway, I hope I have a positive update for everyone tomorrow! 🙂

My first weekend without homework or studying to do!  I have big plans.  I'm gonna wash all the creatures!  😛

Well, not all of them.  I don't think I'd survive washing 10 cats in a row.  Not even with Shaun's help.  LOL  But the dogs need it bad and I think the reptiles would appreciate it before they brumate.  They are all still awake so far, but it is getting pretty cold.

I'm sure that Tort Baby and Nom just need it even though they don't usually sleep.  So far, they just get lazy when it's cold.  I can relate.  😃  I've gotta get Nom a new water set-up this weekend, too.  The pan he was using has a small hole in it.  Maybe it wouldn't if he didn't flip it daily and throw it all over the place, but he likes to re-decorate often.  😉

We've even gotta change Anansi's bedding.  She was webbing up the place yesterday, but if she doesn't look like she's about to molt by the time we get ready to do it we'll just go ahead.  We might need to consider re-decorating her house, too, because she's getting so big.  I don't think she can even fit in her skull anymore!

Aside from that, NAILS.  I've gotten so many pretty polishes that I haven't had time to use.  I've discovered some brands that are blowing my mind.  I really need to make time to fill you in.  I think I have 3 weeks of no school.  Looks like I might be working a lot, but that is usually less stressful.  Maybe I will be able to clear my head enough to slow down and enjoy myself.

Anyway, like I said - BIG PLANS.  😃  Taking care of the ani-pals is a labor of love, though, and I've missed it.  ❤

Two things:

1)  Since I noticed Anansi starting to molt last night and we did not sleep, Shadow and I got to watch her do it.  It took hours and it looked like A LOT of work.  Poor baby spider.  I have some cool pictures and videos, but the videos are long and probably boring, so you might as well hit YouTube for some sped-up versions if you're interested.  It's pretty cool.  I might upload a photo or two later, though.

2)  People have been trying FOREVER to get me into gel polish and I have resisted.  LOL  But, CHROME NAILS are now an achievable thing - legit, shiny, mirror-like chrome nails, and you can achieve that with chrome powders and a UV gel topcoat.  I think having silver or gold nails would be cool, but there are some crazy rainbow shifting colors out there, too.  😳  So, I'm in.  It's not like I have tons of time to do my nails lately, anyway, so I can't really view it as a down-side if they last a long time now.

Another bonus is that I think you can still use regular polish and seal it with a gel topcoat, but I'll have to look into that.  If I could still use all of my beautiful colors and stamping plates, etc, that would be awesome.  I love using my current setup and I don't think that will ever change, but I guess I'm finally ok with branching out.  LOL

So... chrome powders and topcoats are on the way.  I just need a UV lamp.  Any suggestions?  I'm not trying to spend a lot, but I don't want a piece of crap, either.

Unfortunately I don't have her first one. Or if I do I'm not sure where it is at the moment. I guess I never thought about shaping them before they hardened (which is why the last two look so wonky), but in my defense when she would shed before she was always hidden and I never knew she was doing it until after the fact. This is the first time I've seen it in action. I might be a terrible tarantula mommy!
