Ok, not so great things need to stop happening...

Ok, not so great things need to stop happening.  I'm having a cricket / meal worm emergency.  PetSmart is OUT.  The pet store near my house is CLOSED.  I guess I'm heading to Gadsden, then.  😳

I think I'm going to buy enough to just breed my own.  Holy cow.  All of my lizard loving friends... from what I've read I'll have wayyy too many bugs if I breed them myself.  I will totally hook y'all up!  🙂

I spent most of my weekend not accomplishing a lot...

I spent most of my weekend not accomplishing a lot, which was NOT my plan.  We did give Casper his last mange bath (woohoo!), and Shaun helped me medicate the beardie babies.  I did a little bit of cleaning in the house, but never worked in the yard like I should have.  In my defense, it did rain enough to send water into my house, so it's going to take a few days of dryness before I can even get out there to do anything without being stuck in mud.  Ugh.  😐  My grass is going to be so tall by the time I cut it again that it's gonna take a few days for me to do it.  SO NOT FUN.

Also, the tree limb is still hanging in the tree and propped on my cable line.  I THOUGHT that Cable One would be back for it, but I guess they bailed on me.  I'll call again tomorrow to see what's up.  Mom and Bobby came and un-stuck my car for me a couple of days ago, so that was nice.  🙂  At least I've had my car to use.  I hate being a bum.  LOL

Other than that, I've been preoccupied trying to do something that means a lot to me.  I'm so much closer than I've been before, and yet I feel it's so far away.  After sending emails to a bunch of different people this weekend I feel a little better, but it's hard to wait.  I don't want to talk about it just yet, but maybe soon.  🙂

And of course, I did my nails.  Maybe I'll get a photo of them up tomorrow.  😃

Well, it's raining - a LOT.

Well, it's raining - a LOT.  On the plus side I'm off the grass-cutting hook.  On the minus, the water is coming into my house.  🙁

Last night I couldn't decide...

Last night I couldn't decide whether to use one of my new polishes or use the foils I got so long ago.  So, I decided to use both!  😃  The polish is from the new China Glaze Bohemian Luster Chrome Collection; Rare & Radiant is the name of it.  It's got this cool green / gold / sometimes orange-y sheen, so I picked a foil with colors I thought kind of went with it.  I only have a few foils, as I didn't know if I would like them or not, so I didn't have much to choose from.

For those who have no clue what I'm talking about, foils are kind of like those Sally Hansen nail wraps - it's a picture on a little sheet, but with the wraps, you stick the whole thing on and leave it.  Where as with a foil you transfer the image down with special adhesive.  As far as I know these are not popular in the USA and I have no idea where you would buy them besides online.  You can find some pretty cool images / patterns if you are interested.  This one, I think, is string.  It looks like woven string to me.  LOL  I've heard that foils have craptacular staying power, so I'll comment on how they wear in a few days.

I know my thumb looks a little rough.  This was my first go at trying foils and my topcoat wrinkled it up and then half-ass smoothed it back out.  Oh well.  I still like it.  🙂

I did not see this until just now, but...

I did not see this until just now, but all I can say is "WOO FUCKING HOO!"  That is amazing and awesome.  😃😃😃

I hope that everyone saw the post that CCACC did not have to put any pets down this Wed.  During the month of July they had 109 adoptions and 58 rescues!!! Fantastic work.  Thanks to the new Board, to Lisa Weathers, to the Staff and all volunteers!!

One thing that the CCACC needs is flea meds.  Apparently, the county did not put that in their budget.  I did mention it to Tim Hodges at the Ward 1 Forum.  His response was not favorable, so I guess the citizens will have to make sure that a governmental agency has the tools to take care of the animals in their care.

Medicated Teal'c and Teyla both with Panacur.

Medicated Teal'c and Teyla both with Panacur.  That was the only med I gave them because they both fell asleep shortly after that.  Teal'c was so good for his meds.  He took them like a little champ.  🙂  Then I put him in the bath, and he drank some water, then started chomping in the air, like "Hey, where's my syringe full of food?!"  So I fed him his food, then he climbed up the front of me and went to sleep in the crook of my neck.  Teyla found a warm spot between me and Shaun on the couch and went to sleep.  They are such snuggly little lizards!  Speaking of little, Teyla weighs an ounce... and Teal's only weighs half of one.  😐  I've gotta get that boy to eat better.

After that, I had some much-needed dog time.  No one can make me smile and relax like my dogs.  I think it worked on Shaun, too.  😃  They are too goofy not to laugh at.  All of them were feeling good and playing.  Emma and Scooter just wanted to snuggle.  Nappy and Faith wanted to play with the same toy.  Lowrider was all about the newcomers.  And Booka wanted to roll on a blanket and eat cat barf.  Yep, that sounds about right.  🙂

I'm off to shower and do my nails.  I got two new polishes from the China Glaze Bohemian Luster set today, and I'm so torn.  I want to use them, but I've also got an itch to try my foils out.  I've had them since December and haven't had a chance yet.  Ah, decisions.  😉

My house and yard are a wreck, but I'm taking it easy tonight and sleeping late tomorrow.  I have a feeling that after that I'll be busting it trying to get things back in order.  From cleaning in the house to doing my most dreaded chore:  mowing the lawn.  Oh, and maybe dealing with that limb.  Cable One apparently wussed out and left it there.  And finally, Casper's last mange bath is tomorrow.  WOOHOO!  I will be so glad to have that out of the way.  I know that he and Shaun will be, too.  LOL

Anyhoo... that is all.  ❤

I always love seeing women breastfeed.

I always love seeing women breastfeed.  It's totally natural and wonderful.  I hate that women are encouraged to put their tatas on display for sexual pleasure, but discouraged from using them for their intended purpose.  We are mammals, yo.  Get over it.
