Six hours round-trip...
Six hours round-trip and a nervous headache all day and all I can say is: IT WAS WORTH IT. 😃
I met a bunch of people that I look forward to getting to know and work with and realized a dream that I've been pursuing for years. I have officially joined the North Alabama Wildlife Rehabilitators. I should receive my permit this week and then helping the native babies of Alabama will be a thing I can legally do. I will have people I can call if I need help - and in turn I will be there for them as well. It's an amazing group and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.
I've wanted this for so long that it feels like it's too good to be true. I don't think it's gonna really sink in until I have my permit in my hands. Then I will probably FREAK OUT in a fit of joy. Stay tuned for that post. 😃 ❤

So I was just on my way home...
So I was just on my way home daydreaming about raccoons and minding my own business when I got pulled over by a state trooper for not wearing my seat belt. But I WAS wearing my seat belt. It's just broken and he couldn't tell.
So he's totally nice and doesn't give me a ticket or anything, but instead says "You should work on getting that fixed." And I just wanted to dramatically shout at him "I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX EVERYTHING THAT'S WRONG!" But I didn't. I just cried the rest of the way home instead.
I gotta go and hug a dog now.
