Suga suga how you get so fly?

ADOPTED 06/21/14 - Suga suga how you get so fly?

I can't not sing this to this dog.  😂😂😂

Meet Sugar.  My foster pyr at the moment.  She is super sweet.  Not too keen on being indoors, though.  She likes to stay hidden outside and keep an eye on things so I just let her.

She is mostly pretty mellow and timid, but bring out the treat bag and she gets excited.  😃  She is ok with other dogs, but if everyone is outside and crowding around me she'll just go away.  I make it a point to spend some time with her one-on-one every day.

I am not sure how old she is, but we're heading to the vet soon so we'll find that all out. ❤

I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...

I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING productive yesterday.  I guess I'm gonna make up for it today.  😕

I am *sob sob, sniff sniff* gonna move my roachies out of my bedroom.  I ❤❤❤ having them in here with me, but I have no space for Bruce.  While I love to listen to them scuttling around at night when I feed them I guess it's for the best.  If I don't clean my colony every week they get smelly.  I have so many that some are dying of old age and my room is not large or well-ventilated so that is the downside to having them in here.  But I do love listening to them as I fall asleep.  And I don't think it would be a bad idea to have them closer to the lizards.

Sugar has a vet appointment today at 4:45.  So I gotta do that.  I DESPERATELY need to mow my lawn, but when it was raining the other day I went out to open my little metal building so Sug would have somewhere dry to go and I slipped and fell down.  My left knee is bruised all black, and both of my arms are KILLING ME... I guess from catching myself.  So mowing the lawn is kind of the last thing I want to do.

Yeah, yeah - I get sick of hearing "Make Shadow do it.  He's old enough."  He does OUTSIDE the fence.  That is his part.  I do INSIDE because there are dog holes, and dog turds, and it's wet and mucky, and his feet grow so fast that he doesn't have any "yard work" shoes leftover - so that's just how it is.  Once I get my yard landscaped I will probably let him do all of the grass, but right now I wouldn't feel very good about that.

Anyway.  Laurel made me eat breakfast so I'm all full and sluggish.  I don't want to do anything.  She also told me I could pick dandelion flowers for my beardies so I did it and OMG - she was right - THEY LOVED IT.  Mona licked the flower a few times before chomping down, but Teyla didn't waste any time.  I wish I had more dandelion flowers in my yard.  I think I picked all of them after I saw how excited the girls were.  😍  Are those meant as a treat or is it ok to feed them a lot of those?  Someone tell me or I'll Google it later.

Also, JEWELRY STUFF:  I have nothing yet.  🙁  I ordered parts last week, but a lot of the pieces I use are on backorder (supplier sold out because of Mother's Day, she said) so it might be a couple of weeks yet before they come in.  I am SUPER BUMMED about that because I have so many ideas in my brain and a couple of custom orders that I hate making people wait for.  😕

Also, I have tried two different acrylic spray sealers for the plastic rings and even though they should be dry now (I sprayed them days ago and put them in a room with a dehumidifier) I can still dent the clear with my fingernail.  If I can dent it I imagine that they would scratch and scuff and I'm not down with that.  I am considering trying polyurethane spray, but I hate to keep buying sprays that I can't use.  The polyurethane spray I found at Hobby Lobby doesn't say specifically that it's ok for plastics, either, so that makes me a little nervous.  I mean, obviously, I'm not using it on all of the ones I have made - just some of the less fabulous pieces as a test.  I just wish I had a better idea of what to do.  Recommendations are welcome.

Well, I'm off to hopefully accomplish some stuff.  I only have a little while to do things before I have to pack up Sugar and head out.  Later, peeps.  🙂

On another super happy Mother's Day note...

On another super happy Mother's Day note I went and visited my Chupie-Dupie at Sherri's house.  OH MY.  She is doing fabulous, AND, she has a hilarious little brother puppy, COMPLETE WITH PUPPY BREATH, to play with.  He is SO TEENSY, yet he acts as though he weighs a hundred pounds.  😂😂😂  Chu was was excited to see us and then she settled and was so cuddly and happy and comfortable.  I absolutely know that she is right where she belongs and it's a wonderful feeling.  Best ending to a Mother's Day ever.  ❤❤❤

Happy Mother's Day to me!

Happy Mother's Day to me!

This is the first time I've ever lived with a snake.  Meet Bruce (formerly Val).  He was given to Laurel because his human was being deployed, but her cats were bugging him so here he is.  🙂  He will share my bedroom with me so we can both sleep cat-free.  🙂

I hear that he's 8 years old.  He's a ball python.  Seems sweet so far.  We've handled him a few times without incident.  He seems very curious and wants to explore, but I need to move some stuff in my room and get to know him a little better before I let him loose.

I hear that he eats a thawed mouse on Tuesdays.  I did some reading and he doesn't seem like a hard little pal to care for.

To my snakey friends:  If you have any advice for a first-time snake haver, please leave it here.  He came with a tank, a mug for water, a plate to eat from, bedding, a heating pad, and an igloo.

I am not sure about handling other than that I shouldn't touch his head.  I just pick him up slowly and gently and that seems ok.

Anyway, we are all excited to have him.  Shadow wasn't too happy when he heard the news, but he's warming up fast.  Of course Shaun said the obligatory "You don't need anymore pets" but he then told me that he'd always wanted a snake.  I haven't told my mom because I imagine it would do the opposite of making her Mother's Day, but maybe I'll let her know.  Or maybe I'll just throw a towel over his tank when she visits.  😉

I've tried my Omniflex Wide Seal a few times now.

I know it's been a while so you all probably forgot that I was going to review my other diaphragm. But I didn't forget! So there's your fair warning! 😂 Read at your own risk.

I gotta say... I'm not a huge fan of my Omniflex. 😞  Just wearing it around (to get used to it or for the 6 hours after getting laid) - yeah - that's fine. But introduce a penis into the equation and that's just like, weird.

The thing is it's silicone and sometimes there's a wrinkle in it when it's inserted. I read that that is normal and can be caused by a full bladder or bowel, or changes during menstruation, or just - you know, whatever. It's not super unusual and it's not unsafe to use as long as the diaphragm is open and covering your cervix.

But when there's a wrinkle in there and a penis pushing that wrinkle it kind of pops the wrinkle inverted, which then pops back out because of the pressure. It's not painful, but it's distracting as hell. 😒😂

The thing is - the diaphragm rules are this: You put in the diaphragm, you put in the penis, you remove the penis, you do NOT remove the diaphragm for 6 hours - NO MATTER WHAT. I guess that's to account for any stray little swimmers that might be floating around in there. So there was no trying it out with the Omniflex and then switching to the Caya. We just powered through it. It would have been a waste of good spermicide to switch, anyway. 😂

So we both could feel this diaphragm and it was weird and I think I'm just gonna save the Omniflex as my back-up since it lasts forever anyway and it's harder to get out than the Caya.  On a sort-of related note:  I'm wearing the Omniflex right now because yep - I got lucky this morning. AND I'm on my period! So the Omniflex is doing double-duty as a menstrual cup.

More on that: I started my period Thursday so that was really exciting. I had felt a little back-achey, but not like normal PMS back-ache pain. So I really wasn't expecting it, but thank goodness I had some pads with me. Since I had kind of missed it and wanted to make sure this was a normal period (because it's been 6 years - what?!) I've been wearing pads for the last few days, but my butt was starting to feel like it needed a breather so wearing my diaphragm for part of this day is a welcome respite. Keeps blood in, sperm out. What's not to love?

Anyway, I guess I'm still holding firm that the Caya Diaphragm is awesome. There is another one (just plain round, but a different make / brand) that I can order from the UK and I might when I get up some extra money just to try it out. If I do I'll let you know how that goes. 😁 Otherwise I think this about wraps up the posts I can do on diaphragms right now. If anyone has questions feel free to ask me anytime. I am pretty much an open book.
