Good afternoon from Cincy!

Good afternoon from Cincy!

Shaun was amazing and mailed me a bunch of my nail stamping supplies since Kelsey is into letting me paint her nails. Most of the polishes were thick from not being used while I was in college, so I just got them all thinned and ready to go!

We are not-so-patiently awaiting the arrival of Kelsey's skates because she said she'd roll with me. I AM SO PUMPED! They are out for delivery and we have a nice, shady parking lot out back. I cannot wait to get my wheels back on!

I went to bed stupid early last night and slept late this morning. I needed that. Today has been chill so far and pretty nice. I talked to mom and Shaun and have done a very slight amount of cleaning. Kelsey loves to cook, so I gave her grocery money to let me eat her food and she's working hard in the kitchen as I type. Whatever she's making smells DELICIOUS.

I hope you all are having a lovely day. So far, I cannot complain! ❤️

I miss my family and my friends.

I miss my family and my friends. I miss y'all on here even though there are many of you that I haven't met in person. I know my updates have been lacking as of late, but that won't last forever. Adjusting to a new temporary home and completely new schedule has been a little challenging.

I like this apartment complex a lot. It's more of a community than any other place I've lived. It feels super safe and it's well-kept and quiet. It's tucked back in a wooded area and we see deer several times a week on our way to work in the mornings. It's pretty nice.

One reason I've been scarce on here is because I've been waking up at 6 every morning, getting to work before 9, working until 5, coming home and eating, winding down, talking to the fam, and then crashing out. If I feel that I didn't reach my goals at work, then I make time for that, as well. It doesn't leave much time for social media.

Speaking of... work is going well. I don't know everyone's details, but as far as I can tell, me and Kelsey are outpacing the guys on the tasks we're supposed to be doing. We're supposed to be finished working through 3 modules by the end of the week... aka: tomorrow. We're the only 2 in our office of 5 who are on the last module. I don't know how the other 15 guys are doing.

Anyway, I should be sleeping now, so I'm done here for now. I love you and I miss you and I hope all is well. Feel free to let me know how things are going with you because I haven't had much time to scroll and see it for myself. Goodnight. ❤️

Made it back to Cincinnati.

Made it back to Cincinnati.

Leaving my home and my family...

Leaving my home and my family... Again. Saying goodbye is not easy. I'm in my feelings. Bought a bag of rocks to keep me company and a NM luggage tag because I am ridiculous. 😂 Also scarfed a red chile chicken and rice burrito before boarding.

On the bright side:  I get to see Kelsey again and I love my job. Also, this time away will ABSOLUTELY be worth it. Just gotta get through it. ❤️

This might be gross.

This might be gross. It's about eye stuff, so you've been warned.

At the end of July my upper left eyelid started itching. I couldn't see anything wrong with it, so I went about my life. Eventually, a lump appeared above my eyelashes. It wasn't a stye and it didn't hurt. According to Google, it was a chalazion. Usually harmless and resolves on its own. (If you Google it, some of the images will look gnarly, but mine was just a lump - not red or inflamed or anything like that).

So a chalazion occurs when a duct underneath your eyelashes (on the "waterline") gets clogged. Treatment is usually a warm compress several times a day. In more rare circumstances a doctor will numb your eyelid, flip it, and make a small incision to clean it out. What you are never supposed to do is try to drain it yourself. But guess what I did. 😂

Shaun and the kids seemed far more upset about this lump than I did, so when I got home I started doing the "warm compress" thing. But then it REALLY started itching. So... (this next part might be a bit graphic) I stuck one finger under my eyelid and used another on top of it to press the lump. I got the duct unclogged and continued with the warm compresses.

My eyelid has been leaking since then (the lump remains, but feels smaller) and I thought I was probably on the mend. But for the last 2 days I've been tired, nauseated, and cold-ish. I'm about to head to the doctor because I think I'm probably fighting off an infection - an infection that if it exists I probably gave to myself because I'm an obsessive picker and can never leave things alone. 😂

I guess the moral of the story is that you probably shouldn't stick your fingers in your eyes - especially if Google says not to. 😂
