So I was walking...

So I was walking... seems simple enough, right?  But I was carrying a box of cinnamon sticks in one hand and a cup of tea in the other.  I guess that complicates things a bit.

Well I needed to get through a gate, but rather than put all the stuff down and move it with my hands I decided to step my short little self over it.  THAT... well - that didn't go as planned.  I hit the floor, HARD, on both knees.  It's just concrete under that linoleum.  I'm betting I'll have some nice bruises to show for that tomorrow.  😛

Also... poor Emma.  She is the one who ended up wearing my tea.  She shortly thereafter went in her crate.  I guess she thought she was in trouble if I was being mean enough to splash tea all over her.  😂

Took my car to the Kia store.

Took my car to the Kia store.  Got a free inspection with my oil change.  OF COURSE they found a bunch of stuff that needed fixing, but I didn't expect the car to be perfect.  They printed quotes for me on all the work, (complete with the part numbers I'll need - VERY handy!) so I've been Googling.  Of course their rates are much higher and include labor, but I've found everything I need so far for less than $900.  My dad and step-dad have both offered to work on the car and neither of them will let me pay them - so basically I just need to get the parts.

I haven't even looked for salvaged / used parts yet and I'm sure once I do I'll be able to get them even cheaper.  I wasn't sure what to expect when I took it in today, but I gotta say - I'm not upset.  I can't do everything at once, obviously, but I think my list is manageable.  🙂  So far I really like my car, but I've been worried that it was gonna crap out on me just because that's what I'm used to.

One thing the sales guy did mention is that since we don't know the history on the car we don't know how long the timing belt is good for.  I might refrain from driving it until I get that worked out.  According to the sales guy if it snaps while I'm driving it could warp some stuff and cause seriously expensive repairs to be needed.  So... better safe than sorry and all that.  Thank goodness my Hyundai still runs... for now!  😛

I called from my computer (calls are FREE! through Google Voice) and got insurance on my car and had my cards that you put in the car emailed to me.  HELL YES.

I have officially been pissed on twice in two days.

I have officially been pissed on twice in two days.  It wasn't Dumplin' this time and it was not in the face - it was Casper peeing on my foot.

I let him out just a few minutes ago and I knew he had to pee bad.  He always runs straight out the door and goes to the bathroom.  Good boy!  Unfortunately for him it didn't go quite so well this time.  🙁

Since I've got so many limbs down in my yard from the tree trimming he plays with them and drags them all over the place.  The other day when I opened the door to let him back in he'd made a stack of limbs (10 feet long - larger, heavy limbs) at the door... I guess that he wanted to bring in.  It was like a dam.  😂  So I kicked them back from the door so we could go in and out.

So he ran out tonight and ran straight past his stack of limbs - only to get his collar caught on one.  So he ran a different direction and rather than it slipping back out it twisted and tightened around his neck.  He continued to run, panicking, tightening his collar.  I finally caught him and held him still enough to unclip his collar.  I am SO THANKFUL that he didn't have one of those that work like belts.  It would have been hard to hold him still and get that off.

So when I grabbed him and started messing with his collar is about the time he could no longer hold it.  He peed all over my foot and I can't even blame him.  I feel so bad for him.  Poor Casper.  🙁  Baby boy still needs a home, btw.  One where his tree toys don't attack him.

I am SO GLAD I was out there when that happened.  And instead of relaxing tonight I'm going to to throw as much of the limbs over the fence as I can.  I never realized it was such a hazard.  🙁  NOW I know.  😳

I bet all my rehab friends knew that squirrels made sounds.  I figured that they did, but I had no idea what they sounded like until Dumplin.'  He grumbles at me when I'm too slow with his food and today I heard a new one.  I put him in a larger bird cage this morning so he would have some space to explore while I got ready to go see my parents, but he kept clinging to the sides nearest where I was and making a sound.  Can't really describe it, but I got the distinct feeling that he was calling me.  So, I opened the cage and let him out and now he's crawling around in my lap.  I think someone was a little bit scared of his new surrounding so back to the old one for now.  When I get home I'll reintroduce him to it and hang out next to it so he won't be afraid.  I really thought he'd take right to it because he's become so mobile, but maybe he's still not quite ready.  I read that they don't leave the nest until 12 weeks.  He's not that old just yet.

Bad Blu.  How dare I freak the baby out like that.  😂

Aaand, I guess he's over it.  He's taking a bath now.  Haha.
