Heard from the principal finally.  She just wanted to console me and tell me that she thought I handled the other mother and that it wouldn't happen again.  I wrote her back and told her that I didn't need to be soothed - I wanted a change in policy.  I don't see why not.  I guess we will see!

This is my trial experimenting with a matte topcoat. Shaun uses one frequently, but I never have put one on more than just briefly. The main reason for that was because the matte topcoat I had would leave little white goobies on top of your polish when it dried. Which, as much work as I sometimes put into my nails you can forget me doing anything that might gank them up. LOL For anyone interested, the matte with the goobies is by Hard Candy at Wal-Mart. We found a new one by NYC at Wal-Mart this past weekend, which is what I'm wearing now. No issues at all! I put it on different kinds of polish to see how it would look. On my thumb it's only on half of the nail. It's also on my first and ring finger. I left the middle and pinky shiny to show the difference. I actually really like the look it gives, so I'll definitely by trying it again the future. 😃

These nails are not mine. In fact, I didn't even do them. They belong to my Shaun-love and he did them himself - with his own polish and stamping kit. 😃😃😃 Look people, if I can find a man that loves me with all of my strangeness and even joins me in my not usually man-friendly hobbies, then I know there is someone out there for everyone. 😉

Back to the nails:  He only wears really dark colors, (mostly black and red or silver metallics). He also likes a matte topcoat, but he didn't get to use it this time because I was bumming it, as you'll see in my next photo. LOL On a more "manly" note:  He does clean his cuticles with his knife, whereas I just use polish remover and a pointy cotton swab. LOL

OHMYDAWG - I just saw a live raccoon on my way home from work.  😃😃😃  I SO wanted to stop and be his friend, but I didn't want to keep him near the road.  That just totally made my night!  😃

Blegh.  Grumpy and head-achey.  Tired of the house being torn apart, but it's all in the name of progress.  Got my floor enders at Lowe's, but now I need to figure out a way to cut them - they are metal.  I'm going to take some Ibuprofen, and Shaun is bringing me a hug, and then we might go out for cookies.  He'll help me figure out the floor-ender thing.  Gotta run and get Shadow in a bit - my parents might have something I can cut them with.  The day will get better.  🙂

I just emailed the school...

I just emailed the school about what happened on Friday with that kid coming home with Shadow.  I'm asking that they change the policy to require a note from both sets of parents to prevent any other dumbassery from happening again. After talking with mom yesterday I really wish I'd just had her pick him up and take him back home.  It makes me angry that I didn't think of that - thus dooming myself to an extra child for a night.  I'm really not kidding when I say that I don't like most kids.  I like - SUPER don't.  Just keep them away from me.  And certainly don't send them to my house unannounced!

You know... that mom already had one strike against her.  But I just got a call from her number with a kid who was clearly not old enough to talk much babbling into the phone.  If that had been my cell there would have been a fight.  But it wasn't so I just hung up.  People:  Don't let your kids play with the phone.  It's not cute.  Strike two, bitch.  Ugh.

The hall floor is laid down - not glued because I'm a mess and need 4 hands to do it.  😂  But it's down, flat, and looking nice.  😃  Shaun did 99% of the work tonight.  Lots of cutting things to fit and I am just not as confident when cutting things because you can't un-cut them.  😳  (That's why I like working in an office - you can save back-ups, and un-do, etc.  LOVE THAT.  Wish life had that option sometimes.)  

Anyway, THEN, he made me dinner which I am about to go and eat.  Don't know when I became the uther-mucking princess, but I sure do feel special.  ❤

People are wild.

Well, a kid that is not mine just went home.  Shadow called me yesterday at work and said he was at our house.  Nobody asked if he could come - he just got a note from his parents and rode the bus here.  I'd only met him briefly when I picked up Shadow from the dance last week - never met or spoke to his parents or anything.  Who does that?  I could have been a killer or something!  I was annoyed, but I talked to his mom, made sure she had my number, and told her to call me and make plans next time.  And no, I don't think Shadow planned that behind my back - all he has to do is ask.  Aside from that he told me after the dance that he didn't want him to come over - they are not very close friends.  Shadow takes after me and is not a social butterfly.  He likes a few good friends and those are the ones he wants to spend his time with.

I just thought that was crazy.  I would NEVER send Shadow away without having met who he would be with!

I've...

I've removed my nail polish, trimmed and shaped my nails, and showered.  Guess I can finally call it a night!  No painting for me - I'm exhausted.  Would probably jack them up tomorrow working more, anyway.  Poor little things - they are nothing but nubs now!  Oh well.  Like hair - they grow back and it's just not a big deal.  Trim and cut and shave away!  😃

And... the hall floor is ripped up.  I guess I'm that much closer to getting the new floor down.  🙂  Just FYI for anyone who might be thinking of putting vinyl tiles down - they are nice looking, yes, but are harder to put down than a vinyl sheet, and REALLY DAMN HARD to pull back up.  Also, the cracks - I hate the cracks.  😳

So, Shaun and Shadow both seemed shocked that I didn't have a hand full of different patterns on today. LOL But I'm done swatching my big plates, so I'mma do what I want! This image is from a smaller plate and it's the first time I've used it. I think it looks really neat - like graffiti or something. I knew there was no way that I could make them all look the same, so I intentionally stamped in all different directions. I like how it turned out - they are just a wee bit wild! 🙂

31 - 40/40

31 - 35/40 - AS USUAL I missed the tip of my left thumb. I've only managed to not do that so far ONE TIME in all the time I've been stamping now. Also, I somehow managed to chip my pointer finger before I could photograph it. So. I guess these are a little janked up, for your viewing pleasure. LOL I like all of these patterns, but I stamped with a glitter polish (I just had to try it) on the pinky, so it doesn't look like I'd hoped, but that's ok. Note to self: Don't do that again. 😛

36 - 40/40 - Pinky is my least favorite here, too. The polish didn't stamp too well, and I also don't really care for that little shape. It's like a spear or something. LOL Btw, the white I used under the color is AWESOME. I can't remember the brand, but Walgreens and KMart carries it. It's kind of got this shimmer to it, and it goes on really nice. White polishes are usually such a pain. LOL I'll go look in my box and see what it is if anyone is interested. 🙂

Oh wow - I just peed (in the toilet where I am supposed to).  It was all normal and stuff until it was time to flush.  I put my hand on the flush handle and thought to myself "Send and archive."  I just cracked the hell up.  Why did my brain do that?  I must be spending too much time in Gmail.  😂😂😂

I has a happy.  😃  Of all the people I've met in my lifetime the one's that I'm meeting at Lake Hypatia are some of the most genuine, nice people of all of them.  I'm sure that not every free-thinker is so wonderful, but I'm serious - for a community of Atheist and Agnostic folks they are really damn nice.  And helpful and happy.  You'd think that without a book or a god to keep them in line they'd just be as horrible as they wanted to.  Or not.  🙂  It makes my heart feel good.  ❤

Well, it is wayyy late.

Well, it is wayyy late.  Not up for another all-nighter, so I'm going to load my dishwasher and call it a night.  We've put some stuff back in Shadow's room - but most of it is piled up in the living room still.  At least I now have a trail to get to all of my rooms - and even out of the front door!  😂  I can see a lot of toys and things being donated / yard-sold in the near future.

Speaking of, does anyone need a twin-sized bed frame?  Shadow's getting a bed with a trundle unit for when friends sleep over so we don't need the one he has now.  It's got 3 drawers underneath and a bookcase headboard.  It's still in good shape and I would sell it for cheap.  This is what he has, if you are interested:

Ugh.  Started the day off late with a headache and wayyy too much to do.  I still have much work to finish, but everything else got better.  🙂  Yummy pizza, great company, and an OFF THE CHAIN red velvet cake, thankyouverymuch Nancy.  😃  Heading to Wal-Mart and then back to finish!

The first of three (and the most important - Shadow's!) floor is down and looking good.  One less room with carpet so that's a cause to celebrate.  😃  However, it's 6:30 in the morning and we're all exhausted so I'm going to try to get some sleep now.  I have to get him moved back in his room when I wake up so that's going to be loads of fun.  Until next time...

I just came home from a LOOONG Monday...

I just came home from a LOOONG Monday.  But then I checked my FB group Happy Tails Pet Recovery of Calhoun County and saw that a dog who has been lost for almost a month has been reunited with her family.  This wonderful group of people have been communicating in the group this whole time and due to their efforts Crystal is now home safe!  That just brightened my long day right up!  😃

I guess I'm behind on everything because I only just now saw the video of the news anchor being bitten in the face.  All I can say is that I wouldn't have been in his face.  Probably not even petting him.  I'm glad that she's ok and I hope that he doesn't end up put down over that.  He was too stressed to be in that situation.  His owner should have left him home.  🙁

We just got back from the transport and it is COLD out!  So cold that my car wouldn't crank so I had to call Shaun.  He is SUCH a morning person!  (Not really.  😂)  But I'm so glad that he took us anyway.  Big Momma crapped in her cage and made his whole car stink and Morticia peed.  Guess they were freaked out and couldn't hold it anymore.  Poor girls.  I hate to see them so scared, but they're in good hands.  ❤  We'll have fixed ladies tomorrow!  😃

Got Niq and Thumper a new hutch today.

Got Niq and Thumper a new hutch today.  It's really cute and I think they're going to like it!  Just gotta adjust the bottom so that it's more secure and then I can move them in!  Also got in the flooring that I ordered from Lowe's - so I can finally rip up two more rooms of carpet!  GOOD RIDDANCE - I hate that stuff!  Now I'm off to hang with Shadow and do my nails then call it a night.  Gotta be at Pickette's EARLY in the morning to get 3 of Mom's cats on the transport to the Spay / Neuter clinic in Irondale.  Very excited about that!  😃  No more kittens at her house this year!  😃😃😃

I'm back home!  Today went great - I'm sure that had a lot to do with the talented staff at Animal Medical Center and the awesome S.A.V.E. volunteers.  😃  It was a great thing to be a part of and I hope we get to do it again!  😃

I've got an early (and maybe long) day ahead of me so I have to go to bed.  All the magic that S.A.V.E. is working in our community happens because of the hands and hearts of many dedicated volunteers coming together and working towards a common goal.  I'm looking forward to tomorrow.  It will be nice to be surrounded by the friends I've made along the way while working together to make our county a better place for animals.  It's a beautiful thing.  ❤

Finally got the sales from the S.A.V.E. event tallied up!

Finally got the sales from the S.A.V.E. event tallied up!  We exceeded our previous estimate of $1500 - our donation is for $1655!  I don't think any of the volunteers or SCM workers knew what to expect.  We are all quite pleased with how that went!  I hope we can do it again sometime!  ❤

I have met Carly several times...

I have met Carly several times - even when she was much younger.  She's a wonderful, beautiful girl.  It makes me really sad that she's lived her whole life in the shelter so far.  But I'm glad that we do have a place that fights so hard to keep them and give them a chance to find a forever home.

I had a lovely dinner at Ruby Tuesday with just the Shaun.  I love Shadow, but it's nice to have some alone time.  I was so hungry that I ate all of my food - plus some Tiramisu.  I'm good, but I could use more cake (as always).  😂

Now I'm off to dry some laundry and wedge my new polishes into my box.  I will have to buy another one next week for sure.  I'm accumulating quite the collection!  Really, I need a better way to store it all.  Plastic totes taking up space isn't the best idea.  Maybe some kind of shelf...

Leigh, Susanne - I have to tell y'all something.  Susan brought a bunny to my house to keep my guinea pig company.  Balthazar REALLY loves hanging out with those two so I open the cage when I'm home and he goes in to chill with the guys.  It's REALLY FREAKIN' ADORABLE.  😍  Well tonight Thumper must have been feeling amorous or either Balthazar is sending mixed signals about their friendship because Thumper started humping Balthazar and chased him around when he would move.  Balthazar eventually had to just leave the cage.  He looked so bewildered!  And I laughed SO HARD because what the hell?  I've never seen inter-species man love like that!  😂  Honestly I'm just stoked that they all get along.  I ❤❤❤ that.  🙂

I'm pretty sure I've officially switched Wal-Marts now.  The last few times I've gone I've gone out of my way to the Jacksonville one.  Partially to avoid someone who works there that I don't want to see (not you, Janie!) and partially in hopes of running into someone I haven't seen in a long time.  Also, it's near the good Taco Bell so that's even awesomer.  Just sayin'.

Since I'm here and everyone knows I'm looking for someone now - anyone know a teacher named David Smith?  Really damn common name.  😂  Last I knew he was living in Jacksonville. He taught my accounting classes at Gadsden Business College back in the early 2000s.
