I just walked into the living room because Shadow was in there about to feed the dragons and ADDC was being cute.  (I'll tell you about ADDC later.  LOL  Just realized that she has not been introduced to the internets).

ANYWAY, Beyonce was laying on the couch.  Out in the open.  With me and Shadow BOTH in the room.  This time I was the one who was doing the running away.  I had to come and tell the Internet that she didn't leave.  😳

When Shadow left I asked him if she hid.  She had not.  She just went to the other end of the couch.  !!!!!

It's a Thanksgiving miracle!  LOL  I Just want to scream, but that would totally scare my cat so I won't.  😳😃

I found these cool UV color changing polishes online, and so I wanted to get a few - obviously. I thought it would be really cool to stamp with them if I could, so I got two metallic-looking colors (because those usually stamp ok). I also tried to buy colors that looked just like something I already had. That was a little harder to do, but I think I got close.

So... this is the result. Left photo is in the shade. You can kind of see the swirl pattern anyway, but indoors, you can't at all unless you are looking for it. The right photo was taken in sunlight, so now the stamped image is popping. HOW COOL IS THAT?!

All the way. That's how cool it is. 😃

So, I feel like I might want a few more of these. I bet this would be really awesome to try again in the summer, when the sun is out all over the place. I might try some of their non-metallic colors, because their metallics weren't smooth, which made the stamping a little crappy. Thankfully, I chose a pattern that didn't have a lot of straight and crisp edges. This one looks more like maybe a tornado from the top, so I think it's entirely appropriate that it's not "perfect".

Another note on these polishes - they are scented. This one is Cinnamon Bun, and I have another called Sweet Cream. Scented polishes seem to be really hit or miss - either they don't smell much, or they smell TOO MUCH. These are JUST RIGHT. You kind of have to get your hands close to your face, so it's not like you are perfuming the whole room with them. And the smells are actually really nice. This one does smell like cinnamon, and ohemgee, the Sweet Cream makes me want to eat my hands. 😳

I had money put back to shave Nappy because she DESPERATELY needs a haircut... but then my cars broke down and I didn't have a way to get her to the groomer.  So, that sucked.

I went to CarQuest today to pick up a new alternator for my Hyundai since it is under warranty.  I took them back my old one and the lady tested it and said it was fine.  She is thinking that there is some connection or grounding issue, or maybe that the belt tensioner is the problem.  So.  😕

While I was there I mentioned the problem with my Kia and she told me and Shaun to try to jump it and get it to the store so she could do a test on it, too.  Let me just pause here and say that they close at 7, we showed up at 6:50 to get the alternator (not intentionally), and she was STILL super nice and willing to help me.  She told us to call her if we got it running and were coming by.  So, we headed over to the recycle bins where I left it.

I really didn't think that my Kia needed jumping... I was thinking that the starter might have gone out or something.  So we got there and I tried to crank it and it cranked.  😳  I did the exact same thing last night and it wouldn't.  So what the hell, right?

Shaun called her and told her we were on our way, so she waited at the store for us and tested my battery when I got there.  She said that I had a dead cell.  So, I spent my dog-shaving money on a battery.  On the bright side my Kia is running - for the moment.  I am not going to get entirely too comfortable with that idea, though, because I have been stranded... well, I honestly don't know how many times over the last few weeks.  🙁

Since this week is about halfway over and Thanksgiving is coming and Friday is crazy day and all of that I think I will just call tomorrow and try to get Nappy a hair appointment for Monday, if at all possible.  Or maybe I'll consider having it done on Friday because I will have some money then and I don't want to make her wait.  Poor girl can't see a thing and with all this rain she is like having a wet dog flavored mop dripping all over the house.  LOL

I got my new seat yesterday.  It's not installed yet because Shaun has a boo-boo and (though I am pretty handy with tools) I'm too cold to be going out in the garage to bother with it.  It is also too wet and too dark and too cold to ride right now, so it's not exactly pressing that it gets put on.  BUT, I am SUPER EXCITED to try it out.  🙂

I rode some on Sunday with my old seat and my bike shorts.  That was a good bit more comfy, but there is still room to improve.  I went ahead and ordered some Chamoise Butt'r for the friction, so that should be handled.  Once I get my new seat on I should be 1000% AWESOME.  That is my expectation, anyway.  😃

Also, Shaun ordered new shifters for me today.  I HATE HATE HATE the twisty handle-bar deal so these are the trigger kind.  I am excited to get them.  I should have them by Friday, so hopefully I'll be riding this weekend with everything just how I want it.  THEN, I can think about things like building up endurance and getting fun things like a speedometer and lights and all that.  Woohoo!

So... this is NOT my usual style. This is a little out-there for me. But on the way to Ulta the other day, I was inspired by a billboard. It was a red box with a zebra print frame. I tried doing just a red square in the middle, but I didn't like that, so I made a stripe all the way down, and that was better. I like the way they look, but I am not a fan of white polish. It is SO HARD to clean your edges and make them look nice. I don't know why. 😕

So today... just wow.

So today... just wow.

Shaun was working in my yard... and I would say that he got a splinter, but that would be the understatement of the year.  Something impaled his thumb pad and ALMOST came out of the tip of his thumb.  But, it didn't, so he then spent hours digging into his thumb with a knife and tweezers - to no avail.  I checked on him occasionally, but mostly felt helpless and sad.  He did get part of whatever was in there out, but part of it is still deep in there.  He is going to the doctor in the morning.

I hated to leave him, but I was running late to meet my brother so I really had to go.  I briefly saw my dad and shared him some cake, then ran by my mom's.  I shared them some cake, too.  Cade bought me nail polish - nothing I had, and all great colors - so woohoo for that!  😃  Mom got me an owl painting and some owls I asked her to fix for me.  I wasn't expecting anything, so that was pretty fucking awesome.  It was all wrapped up, too, so that was even more fun.  😃

Then me and my brother went ahead to to CiCi's pizza.  The food was gross and the people we were meeting were sick.  Like, snot dripping, boogers on noses, OMG, SICK.  I was SO GROSSED OUT that I actually felt nauseated.  I think they might should have stayed home, but my brother had fun so I guess it was worth it.

Anyway, after that, I thought I would drop off my recycling before I went home.  Yeah... I turned off my car and it wouldn't start again.  So, me and Shadow were stranded in the cold until Shaun could pick us up.  Holy cow, y'all.  You don't even know how tired I am getting of that.

So, that has been my day.  I think yesterday was better.  The highlight of today was my chess cake, unexpected presents, and of course, all of the birthday wishes from you.  That made me feel pretty special.  Thank you for that.  ❤

So... I'm gonna tell you all something.

So... I'm gonna tell you all something.  While I AM, admittedly, a picky eater, I'm not usually a food critic.  Like, far from it.  I don't cook.  When I do I get impatient and eat my food half-done (no, I don't cook meat, EVER, so it's not a big deal).  I mean like I'll eat half-cooked noodles and rice before I'll wait if I'm really hungry.  So that should tell you something.

But growing up, every year on my birthday, I always got a red velvet cake from Evelyn's Bakery in Munford.  Damn, that was the best cake I've ever had.  But since I grew up and moved out of Munford I didn't get those cakes anymore.  I don't think I had a birthday cake for quite a few years.

But, Shaun is so sweet that when I told him I like red velvet on my birthday he went and got it.  First year it was a red velvet ice cream cake from Maggie Moo's.  So not the same as a real cake, but it was such a sweet thing to do.  I ate it and I loved it.  ❤  We've been together long enough now that I don't remember what has happened every year after that, but I do know that he bought me a red velvet from HoneyBaked Ham one year, but I hated that one.  It was frozen and you could tell.  Yuck.  And there were black crunchy things in it.  WHAT?

This year, when I found the girl at Peerless who's grandmother makes the desserts I wanted a chess cake because I knew it was awesome.  The girl said that she made great red velvet, too, and I believed her.  But I don't like it.  It just tastes like regular cake with cream cheese icing and food coloring.  It is not moist, or dark, or rich.  I feel bad because Shaun paid for it, but I just don't like it and I'm not gonna eat it.  I'm sure that my family will, but I just feel so shitty for that.  🙁  And really ungrateful.  🙁  I feel like a horrible person over this red velvet cake stuff.  🙁

I guess I am really picky about red velvet.  🙁  I called Evelyn's Bakery and left a message.  Maybe they are still in business.  If so, I am getting a cake from them, for realz.  If I can have it by Thanksgiving, then I will be happy.  The only other really good red velvet I had was one that my friend Nancy made.  She sent me the recipe, but I don't really want to have to make my own cake.  I hate cooking.  Maybe I can find someone to do it for me.  Is it wrong to take a recipe to a bakery and ask them to make something from it?

These are the nails I did last night. The gray color is a new polish from Ulta and the glitter was a new one from Sally's. 🙂 I tend to default into stamping, but this was in my "To Do" folder, so I went for it. It was pretty easy. And it's festive, so that's cool, too. 🙂

I woke up and did some cleaning so that birthday-me doesn't have to do it tomorrow.  BEST IDEA EVER.  😃

Then, me and Shaun met Emily and her guy at Ulta - for NAIL POLISH, of course.  The MOST AMAZING THING happened while we were there.  I found a bottle of Revlon's Secluded Beach - just sitting around in some random place.  For those who don't remember it was from the Limited Edition Collection that came out during the summer.  I could not find a bottle of that around here in August (even though it hadn't been out for long), so I traded Jennifer some roaches for a bottle she found in her area.  How it has lasted at Ulta this long is BEYOND ME.  It wasn't even regular Revlon price... it was $4.99.  I bet I could sell that on ebay for at least $30.  I am not even kidding.  Who knows if I will, but I know I have the option!  I was just SO STUNNED.  I looked up and was like, "WTFisthatSecludedBeach?!"  Yes.  Yes it was.  😳

Anyway, after that we all got together and had some dinner at Outback.  It was good to catch up with my girl.  🙂  The only way it could have possibly been better would be if Laurel could have come.  Silly girl, with all of her working and living hours away.  😕

So, tomorrow morning we're gonna pick up my cakes and if I love you (and you are near me) I will share.  I'm not having a party or anything, but I do plan to visit my family and stuff like that.

Well.  It is time to go and play with my new goodies.  I got more polish than I planned to because I got to use TWO COUPONS at Ulta today.  SCORE!  😃

So I am just sitting here resting up and plotting my next paint job.  I got some nail mail today - woohoo!  They are coloring-changing, scented polishes.  I swatched them on some nail tabs and I was pleasantly surprised that the smell was not overpowering.  Or bad.  😃  I have one that is SUCH a pretty color, but the smell gives me a headache and topcoat doesn't tame it so I never wear it.  That's a bummer!

Since my birthday is this weekend and I have coupons for both Ulta and Sally I plan to do some polish shopping.  Nothing crazy, but I like to look even if I don't buy a bunch of stuff.

I also plan to eat my two cakes.  And hopefully go bike riding. Pain-free bike riding, even.

Shaun ordered a new seat for my bike and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow.  I also bought some bike shorts.  I don't know how common this is, but my bike seat was KILLING my cooter.  I really like riding, but I haven't been able to do it for more than a few minutes without being in a world of hurt.  My new seat has a cut-out all the way down... for your lady-junk.  The shorts are gel shorts, so that should help.  And I am also seriously considering buying some "chamois cream" - whatever the hell that is.  All I know is that it is supposed to make your down-there not hurty when you bike ride.  Maybe I'll give the shorts and seat a chance.  I just hate to risk it.  😳

If any of you ladies have experience with this let me know what has worked for you.  With my precarious car situation I would really like to be able to bike to work if I needed to.  Shaun can usually drive me, but I hate to be so dependent on someone.  😕

I was really at a loss as to what else this paint job needed and then I saw one of my fairies blowing a dandelion tuft and thought "This will be good." I like it. I like nature and fairies. 🙂

Shaun had to jump me just so I could drive to work.  It cranked when I tried to leave, but I turned the lights on and it died.  I'm sure that it's just the battery / alternator, AGAIN, but I am so beyond tired of being stranded and pouring money into something that is just gonna break again in a few months.  Therefore, I am getting rid of it.  If the Kia is gonna be a dick, I'll get rid of it, too.  I am just so done with all of this.  I will learn the hard way to ride my bike where ever I need to go and I can ride with Shaun to work when I need to.

My biggest issue is taking my animals places.  Shaun isn't a fan of having animals loose in his car.  Nappy has a hair appointment at Piper's tomorrow, but I'm gonna have to cancel.  I don't have a crate large enough to put her in.  And we'd have to pick her up to get her in the car, anyway, and that is hard because she's so huge.  That is the one great thing about the Hyundai.  It was low enough that it wasn't hard getting the dogs in and out.

Anyway, I'm pissed and annoyed and ready for a serious change.  I would just go out and buy another car, but I'm not made of money.  If I have $10 in my pocket after paying my bills every week that's a damn good week for me.  I will get tax money early next year, but I am not living through another year of my house and yard flooding so it's pretty much already spent.  The year after that Shadow is getting a car, and the year after that I am putting better windows in my house.  So my extra money is spoken for for the next few years.  LIFE SHOULD NOT BE THIS FUCKING HARD!

Sorry for the rant and the angriness - I've been holding it together for the last few weeks, but it gets hard - especially when my freedom is at stake.

Here's hoping that my Hyundai feels ok.  I drove the Kia to Munford yesterday and almost didn't make it.  I think my brakes must have been locked up because I couldn't even kick it into neutral and coast down a hill.  It was a struggle just to drive it.  When I made it to my dad's house he could feel a lot of heat coming off my front tires, so right now we're thinking brakes.  He said he would take a look at it, so I just left it with him and bummed a ride home from my mom.

I wish Anniston would just finish the damn bike trail.  Or put in some bike lanes.  I'd totally start biking to work just to avoid having to deal with cars so much.  I am pretty scared to ride a bike on the real road even though I see people do that all the time.

1. I have an allergy to the sun.  I can burn easily in 15 minutes.  I get very itchy and a really bad headache and nausea.

3. I am only 4 feet, 8 and 3/4 inches tall so I am TECHNICALLY a "little person."  An adult height of under 4' 9" qualifies you.  Being a little person is NOT the same as being a dwarf.  Dwarves are the ones with the disproportional builds.  Let the vampire midget jokes commence.  LOL

I super hate holidays.  I hate all of them.  I just dislike having to do anything out of my norm.  If I could choose to have a holiday when I felt like it, fine.  But I can't and most of them mean nothing to me, so... it's just an annoyance.  Birthdays and anniversaries are worth celebrating, though.  You've survived another year.  Go you!

6. This one is probably obvious, but I have an extreme amount of compassion for animals.  I don't feel that towards people - not even the ones I love.  Humans have resources and knowledge and so many options.  That is just not the case for most animals.

I am too empathetic.  I feel the emotions of others to an EXTREME.  I am sometimes more emotional about the bad things that are going on in someone else's life than they seem to be.  I believe that is one major reason why I don't like being around people.  If I don't care about you on a pretty big level, I don't want to feel what you're feeling.  It drains my life force.

I also don't watch a lot of movies / television for the reason above.  If I do, it's gotta be positive and light.  Something sad / bad in a movie or show can really fuck up my whole day.  It really gets inside my head.  That's why I like to keep shit positive over here.  I see enough bad things in real life.  I think it's actually pretty messed up to want to see bad or scary things happen to other people, even if it's fake.

I used to have more piercings, but I've taken out quite a few as I've aged.  I just lost interest or started feeling like they were in the way.  I don't regret it.  I still have a few, but nothing too crazy.  I sometimes think I want another one here or there, but then I think it wouldn't be practical so I just don't bother.
   
   
10. I'm not a fan of tattoos.  They are fine on other people (more power to you if that's your thing - I'm not judging you, and yes - I have seen some beautiful ones!), but I don't ever see myself getting one.  I have never had any desire whatsoever.

Last night as I was falling asleep I thought I felt something crawling on my face.  My best guess as to what it was would be a spider because it wasn't heavy and I have a lot of those around here.

It tickled and I liked it, so I didn't move.  I thought in my head "Hello, friend" and just went to sleep.

Even if I am creepy - everyone is my bestie, so whatever.  😛

I had this thought a while back...

I had this thought a while back and then dismissed it like I was crazy.  Until someone brought it up and said I should do it.  So here goes:

You all obviously know that I like doing nails.  I have considered going to nail school, but I would need night classes (which no one offers), so that's a no-go.  I'm not really upset about that because I feel like I would end up hating nail art if I had to do it all the times.

So... I was thinking of ways to use my nail supplies / skills in a part-time kind of way that would be fun and that might make me a little bit of money in the process.  What I came to was:  Painting nails at birthday parties.  Like, wouldn't most little girls like that?  I could be entertainment.  I could do what I like to do.  And get paid for it.  And usually parties are on the weekend so that wouldn't conflict with my work schedule.  And no classes necessary since I'm not manicuring them, technically.

So, I'm gonna go for it.  If anyone has a little kid who might be into that, let me know.  If you know of anyone you can send them to my page, Polish ALL the Things, so they can see what I do.  For parties, I'd only want to do stamping, or maybe taping and stamping, but nothing crazy like water marbling because that's hard and extremely time-consuming.  So yeah.  Help me out.  LOL  Someone find me a party to do!

🙁  It's not bad enough that we are supposed to paint our faces daily, color our hair monthly, remove any hair that isn't considered to be in the right place, and even get plastic surgeries to be beautiful?  I knew that you could get cooch surgeries, but still.  Now we're supposed to bleach them, too?

I really hate social standards sometimes.  That is why I've been protesting for years.

I am one naked-faced, sometimes bald-headed (but excitedly graying when I'm not), otherwise hairy uthamucka with a some not-quite symmetrical pieces that no one's gonna fix.  And I like me that way.  I don't see why that is so bad.  I would never WANT another person to feel like their uniqueness is a bad thing.  🙁

Shadow just came in here to tell me that he got really close to Beyonce and she didn't even run away at first.  How cool is that?!

She still flees like her tail is on fire every time she sees me, but hey - she probably sleeps on top of Shadow without him knowing it every night.  I keep my door closed, so she doesn't get to check me out while I'm not moving.

I just thought that was super cool.  He said he was within a few feet of her and she didn't run away for like, 10 seconds.  PROGRESS!  😃  I guess she'll come around when she's ready.  ❤

I got my hair cut something like this.  I like it.  The part I was most excited about was the bangs.  Unfortunately, I have a cowlick that is rebelling, but I believe I am more stubborn than it.  Time will tell.  LOL  Yes, I'll post a photo - as soon as I feel like this is my hair.  You know that feeling... how you have to have a little time to make it yours?  That is where I am with it right now.  But so far, so good.  It was only cut yesterday.  I am about to shower, so we'll see what some blow drying does for it.

Also because I am super awesome I got a free shirt at work today.  It is from MailChimp.  And it's blue.  And I am probably more excited about it than I should be.  LOL

I got one of the plates I didn't think I would be able to get! It's got dragons on it. I guess these are supposed to be dragon scales. ❤❤❤

I used it over one my favorite greens ever - A. England's "Dragon." Fitting, right? That is the only A. England polish I have. They aren't sold around here, so you have to get them online. It's one of the more upscale polishes. This is ONE COAT of it. For realz. 😳

Anyway, the photo on the top is all about the polish. It's a beautiful green all of the time, but look how it lights up under the sun. The shimmer! The color! It is just yummy. 😃

I know that these nails are not super fancy or anything like that, but I am really digging these. I have been drooling over these for two days. 😃

Just got home from such a long day.

Just got home from such a long day.  I have hurt my back, BUT ON THE BRIGHT SIDE I now have rims for my car.  FOUR of them, even.  Only cost me $80.  And they are kind of pretty.  AND they match.  😳

Me and Shaun went to Pull-A-Part in Birmingham because all of the nearby salvage yards didn't have anything to fit my car.  They can't tell you what parts they have in stock, but their website did say that they have 4 Kia Sportages who's parts would fit my car.  I thought that surely they would have some rims and they did.

It was pretty interesting because you look up where the cars are, then go in with these wheelbarrows and your own tools, take what you need, and then pay for it.  It was kind of like a scavenger hunt.  Pretty fun, actually.  😃  The rims I just bought have tires on them, but none of the tires are good, so they didn't charge me for them.  It will probably be next week before I can afford tires for them, but hey - I'm one step closer to feeling safe in my car, so I'll take it.

When I was looking up pricing for new rims it was redonk.  Like, of everything I found I would have been paying about $80 PER RIM, not the whole set.  So I feel like I got a pretty good deal.  I like it when that happens.  😃

Then, since I had a coupon that expires today we stopped by Ulta since we were up there.  Nothing like some cheap nail polish to make a girl's day.  🙂  Had a nice dinner at Outback, just the two of us, then headed home.  Oh, and on the way up I had to pee SUPER BAD, so we stopped at a gas station and they had little home-made chess cake squares.  WHAT?  That was awesome.  😃

Anyway, I'm going to shower.  I NEED to.  LOL  I really hope I'm not all crippled up in the morning.  😳

My nail beds hurt.  They usually only hurt when my nails are too long, but they don't seem to be.  🙁

I have a dog being stubborn outside.  I can't sleep with him out there.  But I would really like to get to bed.

It's been a day.  I think I could probably sleep from now until Sunday.  😳

Also, I REALLY want to ride my bike. And I just haven't had the time. Super suck!
