Um... yeah. Y'all are about to see just HOW dorkalicious I really am. I'm going to help S.A.V.E. in the morning with getting the animals on the transport to the spay / neuter clinic so I thought that nails with their logo would be appropriate. 😃

THIS, my dears, is the thing I've been so excited about. I can put just about anything on my nails that I want to. Even photos of my dogs, (which I have made and am just WAITING to be able to use). 🙂 These things are SO easy to put on once you've got them made. Anyone want me to make you a set?

Millie, Margaret, Janie, Leigh - I have some extra if you ladies want them. And Leigh, I even have some black cats! I thought of you when I made them! 😉

This is the first time I've used one of my water decals.

This is the first time I've used one of my water decals. They are not the same as nail tattoos. Actually, for me they were MUCH easier because you can move it around after you put it on, unlike with a tattoo. With a tattoo if you're off, you're just off - no adjusting those. Btw, I think my nails look black in the photo, but they are just a REALLY dark green. REALLY REALLY dark. But the feather is also a very dark green, so I thought it kind of worked together. Just one bright nail this time. 🙂

This is the first time...

This is the first time I've bothered to take the time to do ALL of my fingers in a water marble. The look is pretty neat, but it's easier to do it to someone else due to all of the clean-up and the messiness of the process. I know the point of the water marble is to get some really cool, flowy effects, but I really like my thumb, pointer, and ring finger. They just look kind of stripe-y - not very impressive, but, oh well. 😛

This hand definitely turned out a little more interesting. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the thumb. Couldn't re-create it to save my life. LOL If you can't tell:  The whole thing was pretty experimental, which is the reason that none of my nails look very similar. If you drop the polish in the same way and draw the same shapes in the polish, then you can make them all look pretty much the same. There are videos on YouTube that show you how to get certain shapes / looks, however, I didn't look them up right before I started, so I just went with whatever I was doing. Just playing around, I guess. 🙂

It's been a good night.

It's been a good night.  Storms didn't hit here like I was worried they would.  Ate a bunch of pizza and talked for a long time with my Janet.  Tried something new with my nails that I can definitely do better - I love it when I find something I think I can get good at.  🙂  My hands smell really good thanks to some sanitizer that Nancy gave me.  😃  All in all - no complaints.  My bed is calling my name and I am down for the count!  I hope the new Hunger Games polishes are in at Sally's tomorrow - they have a few in that collection that I am just drooling over!  Later, Gators.  🙂

My first attempt at gradient color. The ring finger DEFINITELY turned out the best. The others don't have such a great fade, but perhaps with practice! 🙂

No stamping on these - just tape and polish here. 😃 I wanted something bright and contrast-y, so this is what I got! I don't know how well it shows on the photo, but the bright color is like, a neon coral. LOL At a glance, though, these remind me of Tony the Tiger. 😃 You can do so much with tape - you don't even have to have any kits or anything: just imagination, tape, and scissors. I'm happy with how these turned out - just a little "oops" on the pointer finger where I smudged the black a bit. Oh well, onward! 😛

This is my trial experimenting with a matte topcoat. Shaun uses one frequently, but I never have put one on more than just briefly. The main reason for that was because the matte topcoat I had would leave little white goobies on top of your polish when it dried. Which, as much work as I sometimes put into my nails you can forget me doing anything that might gank them up. LOL For anyone interested, the matte with the goobies is by Hard Candy at Wal-Mart. We found a new one by NYC at Wal-Mart this past weekend, which is what I'm wearing now. No issues at all! I put it on different kinds of polish to see how it would look. On my thumb it's only on half of the nail. It's also on my first and ring finger. I left the middle and pinky shiny to show the difference. I actually really like the look it gives, so I'll definitely by trying it again the future. 😃

These nails are not mine. In fact, I didn't even do them. They belong to my Shaun-love and he did them himself - with his own polish and stamping kit. 😃😃😃 Look people, if I can find a man that loves me with all of my strangeness and even joins me in my not usually man-friendly hobbies, then I know there is someone out there for everyone. 😉

Back to the nails:  He only wears really dark colors, (mostly black and red or silver metallics). He also likes a matte topcoat, but he didn't get to use it this time because I was bumming it, as you'll see in my next photo. LOL On a more "manly" note:  He does clean his cuticles with his knife, whereas I just use polish remover and a pointy cotton swab. LOL

I've...

I've removed my nail polish, trimmed and shaped my nails, and showered.  Guess I can finally call it a night!  No painting for me - I'm exhausted.  Would probably jack them up tomorrow working more, anyway.  Poor little things - they are nothing but nubs now!  Oh well.  Like hair - they grow back and it's just not a big deal.  Trim and cut and shave away!  😃

So, Shaun and Shadow both seemed shocked that I didn't have a hand full of different patterns on today. LOL But I'm done swatching my big plates, so I'mma do what I want! This image is from a smaller plate and it's the first time I've used it. I think it looks really neat - like graffiti or something. I knew there was no way that I could make them all look the same, so I intentionally stamped in all different directions. I like how it turned out - they are just a wee bit wild! 🙂

31 - 40/40

31 - 35/40 - AS USUAL I missed the tip of my left thumb. I've only managed to not do that so far ONE TIME in all the time I've been stamping now. Also, I somehow managed to chip my pointer finger before I could photograph it. So. I guess these are a little janked up, for your viewing pleasure. LOL I like all of these patterns, but I stamped with a glitter polish (I just had to try it) on the pinky, so it doesn't look like I'd hoped, but that's ok. Note to self: Don't do that again. 😛

36 - 40/40 - Pinky is my least favorite here, too. The polish didn't stamp too well, and I also don't really care for that little shape. It's like a spear or something. LOL Btw, the white I used under the color is AWESOME. I can't remember the brand, but Walgreens and KMart carries it. It's kind of got this shimmer to it, and it goes on really nice. White polishes are usually such a pain. LOL I'll go look in my box and see what it is if anyone is interested. 🙂

Too much to do, too little time

😂  On a related note I haven't even had time to do my nails since the fairies.  But they're still (much to my surprise!) on and looking fine.  Must have been the new base coat I used.  It's awesome.  🙂

I had a lovely dinner at Ruby Tuesday...

I had a lovely dinner at Ruby Tuesday with just the Shaun.  I love Shadow, but it's nice to have some alone time.  I was so hungry that I ate all of my food - plus some Tiramisu.  I'm good, but I could use more cake (as always).  😂

Now I'm off to dry some laundry and wedge my new polishes into my box.  I will have to buy another one next week for sure.  I'm accumulating quite the collection!  Really, I need a better way to store it all.  Plastic totes taking up space isn't the best idea.  Maybe some kind of shelf...

I just took a shower and it opened up my congested head in more ways than one.  I just had an idea!  Tell me what you think and if it's stupid or not.  SO... I'm really into nails and I really love dogs.  What if I combine the two?  I don't mean doing dog nails (although I guess I'm open to trying that, as well).  Would anyone pay like, $5 - $10 for me to paint their nails?  Since I have no fosters to support right now I could donate the money to Calhoun County Humane Society or S.A.V.E.  I'm no pro, but I can paint, stamp, tape, and water marble pretty good.  I have a great topcoat that keeps my polish on for 3 - 4 days and I'm pretty rough on my hands.  I could call it, like, Nails for Tails or something.  So... what say you?

I feel so crappy and I'm really tired...

I feel so crappy and I'm really tired, but I can't imagine that I'm going to be able to sleep with all of the nose-blowing I'm having to do.  I took some Mucinex, which made me feel all weird.  That didn't really help anything.  🙁  Looking forward tomorrow - want to get my check and see if there are any polishes out that I've been waiting for.

Saturday might be good, too.  Gonna help photograph the shelter dogs (if I'm not sicker... I'm just gonna plan on not being sicker) and I get to pick up Lowrider's paperwork, which means that she's officially official.  😃  Then I can order her new tag and take her shopping for a collar and leash of her own - no more foster-dog hand-me-downs!  At least I have things to look forward to.

I realized earlier...

I realized earlier that I didn't have one of the new flaky polishes that I want so badly (because I am obsessive and crazy), so I called Sally's (expecting a recording) to get their hours. Literally at 11:45 pm someone answers the phone and helps me. She was all, "Sally Beauty Supply, how may I help you?" And I was just like, "Are you kidding?" LOL She was totally nice. I can't even believe that. They were just in doing some sort of thing - not open to the public. She did NOT have to answer the phone, but she did! 😃 And they open at 9 in case you were wondering. Just wow. 😳

It's been a "blah" kind of day...

It's been a "blah" kind of day. Woke up with a headache that I couldn't shake and had to go get my coochie probed (woohoo for yearly stuff - but at least Dr. Daniels was upbeat and happy, as always). I had a restful weekend, but I've been tired all day. I think the flakies on my nails have been the best thing about today. I didn't know that they were so many colors until I was out in the daylight and then BOOM! There was the rainbow. 🙂 However goofy it sounds - this is why I don't just cut them off and leave them bare. You always have you hands with you, right?

Excited about...

Excited about doing nails with Mary Beth and Nancy tomorrow. MB doesn't know it yet, but SHE'S GONNA WEAR SOME GLITTER! 😛 I don't care if it comes off on Monday - it's about having something you like to look at until it's gone. 😃

Got to watch a dog spay and neuter today in preparation for the SAVE event in February. It was kind of gross, but not too bad. Can't wait to see how it goes next Thursday!

The rest of the day was CRAZY - with a thousand things to do at work and one VERY uncooperative computer.

Glad to be home. Gonna veg out with Shadow, watch some TV, and do my nails. Gotta shake it off and get ready for tomorrow!
